  1. Review titled Efficient frontline service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was quickly able to get antibiotics, out of hours for an infected insect bite. Really happy I didn't have to wait for a GP appointment!

  2. Review titled Excellent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

So reassuring to experience the joined up care between GP and pharmacy. Excellent care following a referral from a pharmacy in London after I requested a BP reading, Charter followed up and I was fitted with a 24 Hr BP machine in no time. So glad I used this service as my results were high and incredibly I was offered a GP appointment soon after. I appreciate this technology is not cheap but if it saves just one life it is worth it. Well done Charter, a big thank you to the pharmacist .

  3. Review titled Fantastic service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Fiona - Posted on 08 August 2024

I took the time to write this, as I have been so impressed by Charter Medical Centre. I am a new patient and used their online appointment request to see a doctor, but mentioned two other concerns. Withing 30 minutes of my request, they had text me a link to make an appointment for both non-doctor issues (I am seeing the nurse at a time that suits me before work). 10 minutes later, I had a link for a doctor appointment within 3 days (non urgent issue). I saw the Dr today and waited less than 15 minutes for my appointment (as advised at check in). Dr was fantastic and took as much time as I needed. She also referred me for an issue and before the end of my working day, I had a text message from Charter to say my referral has been made. I can't recommend them highly enough and am so grateful for their outstanding care.

  4. Review titled Great Pharmacy Service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Very helpful and efficient pharmacy service to access treatment without seeing the GP. Unfortunately, the GP service has gone downhill with having to wait over 2 weeks to get an appointment!

  5. Review titled Frustrating trying to access support

Rated 2 stars out of 5

    by John B - Posted on 09 July 2024

Some of the GP’s are good here but getting to them using their new NHS online contact form is flawed massively. If you need an appointment and its not time dependent and you don’t care who you see and are totally flexible I’m sure its fine. If your concerns are more complex such as switching meds and needing to speak to somebody before your new meds run out for example, forget it. They also use contact forms for general enquiries and these allow you to reply just the once. Not satisfactory when people there are vague and you need clarification about something. I’m being a bit harsh but i do feel they could do alot better. Their previous system worked very well. I’m sure the switch was probably made to reduce costs.

  6. Review titled They don't care...

Rated 1 star out of 5

None of my issues have been addressed. Spoke at length and just given the stanard issue medication. They choose as and when to notify you of appointments. Took multiple months to get a blood test sorted. Different GP every time, and they don't communicate between each other, so constantly explaining the same thing over and over. Not a good experience.

  8. Review titled I have received the best of care.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I transferred from a local practice with which I was very dissatisfied. I have a number of health issues which have been treated very well and in a timely manner. So far I have always got a same day appointment either by phone or online booking. The reception staff are incredibly helpful and go out of their way to assist. The doctors all listen and discuss health issues and treatments. Additionally the practice pharmacists are just as professional and helpful. Altogether I have found this a brilliant surgery, well managed utterly professional and patient focussed and am so glad that I transferred from a practice where business seemed the prime consideration. Thank you to everyone.

  9. Review titled Superb practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

From phone call to Surgery and then seeing medical staff..one can only praise this great team. Following diagnosis and advice on further treatment support and care was amazing..your staff are still 'real humans' with great qualities that cannot be bought..I have a medical background and am very confident in Charters.

  10. Review titled Not good enough

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Gillian Carpenter - Posted on 06 June 2023

My brother, registered with Charter, was end of life. When I actually managed to speak to someone - especially someone medical, but reception staff to - they were wonderful. Empathetic and efficient. However, there's the rub. Actually getting to speak to someone is a fools errand. Over the course of three phone calls trying to speak to someone I spent a total of 4 and three quarter hours on hold waiting for someone to pick up. It's just unacceptable. All anyone can expect is good enough care from a GP surgery but waiting considerably over an hour each time is not even in the same universe as good enough. However I would like to thank the medics who attended my brother in his final week. They were excellent. Their compassion towards him and the family, plus facilitating medication to keep him comfortable was fantastic. As a result of their efficiency he passed away peacefully and pain free.
