Hi, I do find it frustrating when a doctor requires you to have an appointment with them. They cannot as range it. Even for on going treatment with hospital. Please allow your doctor who requests you the patient to see them. Then waiting month and having to be told to call back. Knowing full well you won’t get that appointment !

I have never struggled to get support from this GP practice, whether that’s through eConsult, telephone or face to face appointments. I have always been contacted or seen within a week (and quicker) depending on what I’ve needed. I can’t fault this practice! Sometimes appointments run behind but never for more than 15 mins, this is not a problem as they’re under so much pressure. Everyone is always polite and friendly.

The nurse was very professional, encouraging and comforting when I went for my pneumonia vaccination. The appointment was on time - no wait.

I have been trying for two months to get a face to face appointment with this specific doctor as I knew my history was familiar to this doctor. In the end I managed it with help and was very happy with the outcome. However the two week window for making face to face appointments with a specific doctor is very frustrating. Every time I rang, aster a very long wait on the telephone. I was told he was fully booked for two weeks and I had to ring back only to get the same response the next time I rang. The result of this was that I had somewhat unsuccessful call backs from locum doctors who. In my opinion were not able to deal with my problem satisfactorily as they did not seem to appreciate my full concerns or my problem over the telephone. This was a waste of their time - and a delay in my treatment. We are asked to see the same doctor whenever possible but this rule about only making appointments two weeks ahead makes this impossible. I love this surgery and believe this rule is not of their making but a general directive. . It needs looking at. Blackthorn is a very good surgery with some fantastic doctors doing an impossible job right now. I have no complaints about them but they need more support like the whole of the NHS.

Very helpful reception staff and a friendly nurse. Helpful text reminders and prompt timing kept maintained. Reception area relaxed and practise very clean

This is one of the best practices I have ever attended. I always try and see the same GP but do have to wait sometimes for a week or two. This is relatively recent and post Covid. The nursing staff and other support staff are always helpful. I would recommend this practice to anyone in the area. I have no criticisms of the NHS once you’re in the system. I cannot blame frontline staff for the incompetencies of government. All staff should be paid at the same level, allowing for inflation, that they were paid in 2010

Went for a change of birth control, when I arrived I was asked by the nurse if I had the implant with me. I had not been informed I would have to pick one up from the chemist, appointment rebooked and prescription given to me incase one hadn't been previously sent. I'm grateful i was given a prescription as nothing had been sent to my chemist at all. Reception need to know and make you aware of these things when booking in an appointment. The nurse I saw was very apologetic and understanding.

Very helpful, friendly and professional receptionist who made my appointment. Appointment booked 2 weeks in advance with the precise doctor I needed to see. Efficient text reminders. Excellent follow up. Text message received the same day outlining the result of my appointment
