I have tried every time slot to complete a patches form today and they have run out of slots within 30 seconds of opening. Absolutely ridiculous.

Dear patient, Thank you for providing your feedback. I am sorry to hear you have been unsuccessful in your attempts to complete a PATCHs form. This does mean that we have reached capacity for that session. If you have an urgent enquiry you call the practice on 01502 712662 for advice from a Care Navigator. We also have the PATCHs telephone assistant by pressing option 1 on the phone which enables you to complete a PATCHs form with an automated service using your voice. If there is anything you would like to discuss with me at the practice please do not hesitate to contact me. Have been trying for well over a week to get it sorted so I can re-order prescriptions through PATCHs. Started off by being told that I had to attend reception in person so that I could be checked out as really me. A totally different situation to what PATCHs help says, there they reckon you can send the required information as an attachment to your admin request. But the author of the reply (who's name apparently is forbidden to be mentioned) says no and if I do the turning up at reception bit with the information I will get sorted within 24 hours. So off I trot to reception with the information needed to get sorted and then wait and wait and wait. Four working days later I have to send another request through PATCHs as I still haven't received anything. The following day (five working days later) I finally get four emails through that should be the ones I need to get the situation sorted. But then I discover that the PATCHs system needs an "organisation code" which I have just discovered tucked away in the email containing my passphrase. Not highlighted at all so easy to miss. PATCHs is absolute and utter rubbish and makes things unnecessarily difficult to complete.

Further to a referral by a lovely female Dr s.i. who gave me time and space to discuss my health issues, I have had a couple of telephone consultations with a M.health.practitioner. called M (?!). She honestly went over and above, and was very kind to me. I have been feeling extremely overwhelmed and anxious about an extremely difficult family situation/caring/hospital visits, but she was very practical and empathic in her support. Thank you. I appreciate your kindness and professionalism.

During the last couple of months, the staff at Beccles Medical Centre have been amazing with my parents and my daughter. Going above and beyond. Missing breaks to make time. So caring, knowledgeable, efficient and devoted to their jobs and their community. Thank you so much

A wasted trip that could have been a phone call if the doctors actually read what you send on patches. I think these are monitored by a completely different set of doctors and the one you're seeing hasn’t even seen your patches referral. The doctor graced me with 60 seconds of their time and denied me blood tests because I work in a hospital. Very dismissive and couldn’t get me out quick enough.

Dear patient, I am sorry to read you felt you had a wasted trip to the surgery. The doctors work on a rotation daily/weekly where sessions include: triaging PATCHs form OR seeing patients on the Urgent Care Team OR routine patient clinic. This list varies each day and therefore based on the urgency decided at the point of triage of when a patient should be seen, it is not always possible to see the person who triaged the form in the first instance. The forms are all saved to patient records and brief notes made in the appointment slot for the reason of the appointment. I am sorry you were denied blood tests and felt dismissed. I have attended the health centre on numerous occasions this year to deal with serious issues regarding pre operation and post operation issues arising from major back surgery. I have found that every health centre department I dealt offered friendly polite advice and gave overall excellent service. Thank you to all the staff for helping me through this difficult period.

Another wasted journey. Waited just under 2 weeks for a rare face to face appointment only to be told there's nothing really wrong, and if there was, putting a name to it wouldn't matter because the treatment would likely be the same. I've also had two communications via text asking for feedback for the various systems I have been asked to use. The first one I couldn't reply to, nor did it give any indication of how this feedback could be given so I assume you don't really want it. The second link for feedback for today's appointment was a broken link. Very apt. Yes, I could call to leave feedback but if you want it, provide a way to give it! Whenever patients call in there is a long list of reasons to hang up on repeat until the call is answered. I am very much alone in my efforts to alleviate my back pain it would seem.

I would like to assure you that face to face appointments are not a rarity and we have regular appointments, in person, with all types of clinicians at Beccles Medical Centre. As for the links for the feedback I apologise the links were not working and I have flagged this to our IT team to investigate. We have various ways to contact the surgery, via PATCHs, on the phone or in person and are happy to answer any queries you may have. We have a team of Advanced Practitioners who specialise in MSK (musculoskeletal) and can also provide information on how to self -refer to community physiotherapy. I cannot find any other way to convey this message other than as a review. I expected there to be an email contact with the practice manager. So how should I contact the practice if I want a written record? I had a face to face consultation on April 12. I wanted help with how ill I felt with pseudo gout flares and had filled in patches not requesting face to face so I was as surprised as dr I’d never seen before that I’d been given one. I do find it confusing to not have one doctor and thought that only happened if you were an emergency. However as we were face to face I asked him about a large worrying lump next to my zygomatic arch which was painful and had been there months and I’d thought sinus related. He reluctantly palpated it and said it was no problem. I didn’t see him put it on my record. And I left having been told to reconnect with n and n about pseudo gout. Which I did. I have now been asked why I wasn’t referred to ent. I am in the middle of the 2 week cancer pathway referral from my dentist. I am seeing an oral surgeon and have massive damage to sinuses caused by a large cyst under my zygomatic arch and at the very least need surgery under general anesthetic. I am very scared . In the past the problems patients mentioned alongside their main concern were carefully considered.

Times i have phoned to get an appointment and can't get through because i am like 10th in the call queue, it's riddiculaus, this surgery is not like it used to be. At one point you could phone, make an appointment and it was done, but now it's getting worst and worst. And as for the online patchs, wow, say no more....

Dear patient, Thank you for your feedback. We upgraded our phone system in April 2024. At peak times our phone queue may exceed 10, however we have 3 - 4 people logged in to answer to calls. More at peak times. We also have a 'call back' function where if our phones queue exceeds 6 you will be offered the opportunity to receive a call back when it it is your turn in the queue. PATCHs requests all go a clinical team to triage and they establish the need for appointment and urgency. This enables us put patients in direct contact with Health Care Professionals who can respond to some requests directly without the need for an appointment. I have booked through Patches twice in the last two weeks and they really seem to be getting it right. Both times I had a call back within 2 hours from a friendly and professional person, and a same day appointment to see doctors who were very thorough and reassuring. The surgery was also a pleasant place to be. Thank you.
