Thank you for supplying me with all of the details so that I can investigate and ensure training is given where needed. Review titled I felt as if I was a nuisance
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Jean - Posted on 25 January 2023
I’d been waiting a few weeks for my appointment and when I got there the GP was running an hour late. I decided to wait the hour as my condition was unbearable. When I finally got called in, the gp was sideways on to me typing into the computer which I understand, however when he finally spoke it was in such a way, I felt a time waster. He sent me away telling me to only wash my hair once a week and to wash my bra more thoroughly. Three times I asked the GP the same question - he ignored me the first and second time but I needed an answer so I told him I would keep asking til he gave me a reply, and it was only at that point he turned to face me and answered my question. How demeaning. I persevered for a couple more weeks, tried the online consultation room after being told by reception I would get an appt the same day. I got a call back a few hours later saying the on call gp had read my notes and said I was to make a normal appt in 2-3 weeks. At this point my problem had spread from my scalp down to my legs. I asked the caller to speak to him again as this was urgent. She said she would, but I never got a call back, so they chose to ignore me I guess? In the end and out of desperation I dialled 111. It took an hour to get a response but it was worth it. They told me to contact my surgery within two hours and they would put a note on my record for the surgery. I phoned the surgery and when I told them I had dialled 111 and there should be notes on my record from them, their response became positive and finally things started to happen. Blood tests, go appointments, X-rays etc which is great however I should not have to go to 111 just to get the service I am entitled to from my surgery and really what a waste of 111’s time, given the pressure they are under. Finally last week I was given an appt with another GP and she was far more caring and supportive. I got there in the end but it should not have reached this stage.

My husband filled in an online request at 9.30am for a telephone consultation because he was unwell and received a text message within 10 minutes for a face to face appointment at 13.00. Thank you for fast reply and being able to see him so quickly, fantastic service.

Review titled Shame on you.
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Mrs Janet Bennett - Posted on 03 January 2023
I was requested to arrange a medication review with a doctor, which I did last year. So today, the day of this review, the telephone rang and the first words spoken were "what can I do for you?". This is the second time we had spoken to this doctor, so knew exactly what to expect during the appointment. To cut a long story short, we do not ever want to have any dealings with her again. This surgery was once the best one in the area, but now it definitely isn't. But I suppose we have to blame it on 'Covid' and all the changes this has caused. Although COVID is not the cause of doctors who are not prepared to listen. We are both getting older and absolutely dread having to speak to a doctor, and certainly leave my husband and I with the feeling of getting on God's escalator sooner rather than later. Shame on you 'Beaches medical centre'.

Review titled Excelling under pressure
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sam Carvell - Posted on 24 January 2023
Completely understand the pressures and constraints but my family and I always receive great care and advice. Best to visit in person if possible as the email option has been fully booked but genuine care and signposting offered. An overall excellent service.

Dear Sam Thank you for your kind words and positive feedback. I hope that you will also see an improvement to our online form system on the Website which now tends to be open until early afternoon as we have managed to improve patient access. Phone lines are also slowly improving in terms of wait time; with our new Receptionists now coming to the end of their training period. Thank you again, your review is hugely appreciated.
