Review titled Very good service and friendly staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 25 October 2024
I am not a patient at this practice but was referred here for the podiatry department. The receptionist was lovely and helpful telling me where I needed to go. And the podiatrist that helped me was outstanding. So reassuring and calming whilst helping me with my problem and explaining all next steps. Honestly made me consider if I should switch practices to this one. Made a not very nice experience much better and for the first time ever I left the doctors with a smile and not feeling judged, so thank you for that.

Receptionist needs training in friendliness and communication. Made to feel uncomfortable with her non smiling face.

Dear Patient, Thank you for your review. The receptionists deal with many patients each day and try their best to greet patients in a warm and friendly manner and I am sorry on this occasion you felt this was not the case. I will pass your comments onto the reception team as part of feedback to the staff. Regards, Debbie Weston - Practice Manager

Review titled Unwelcoming
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Charlie - Posted on 30 July 2024
Arrived at 8:00am to reception staff not even greet me or any other patients who arrived after me, I was totally blanked and asked the other patients what turned up what help they needed instead of me. This was my first time visiting the surgery and I have been put off majorly. The Nurse who dealt with my problem was so lovely and kind.. maybe she could teach them a thing or two?

Review titled Disappointing in every way
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 13 June 2024
I have been attempting to see a doctor of months but it is impossible to get through to the surgery. I work during the day and cannot just drop everything and sit on the phone for hours. I am now having to resort to take a days holiday off work just to sit on the phone to sort an issue out. The system is utterly broken

Review titled Awful practice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 30 April 2024
Made the most awful time of my life significantly more stressful. Due to medication being refused repeatedly. Even my consultant was so appalled that he issued my medication. There is no notification that you are not going to be given the meds. They are refused and you are then told that you need an appointment which is impossible to get.

Review titled Lack of services
Rated 3 stars out of 5

After having a minor hospital procedure, I was instructed to contact my GP surgery to arrange changing the dressing. I was surprised to be advised on the phone that the practice no longer does dressing changes and have been given an appointment at a surgery on the other side of Worcester. I do not understand how a large practice that employs nurses and health care assistants is unable to change a bandage. I will need the dressing changed twice a week and thank goodness I am fortunate enough to be able to drive to the other surgery. It would be extremely costly and time consuming if I had to rely on public transport or a taxi. I have been a patient of this practice for almost 50 years.

Dear Patient, The practice will of course do dressing changes but when we are at capacity, we have appointments that are available for our patients at other sites as part of Worcester City Primary Care Network, as have all of the other Worcester City practices. These appointments are available at various sites and are there to help relieve pressure on gp practices and ensure patients can be seen without excessive delay. If patients were unable to use transport to get to other sites we would see them at the practice but there may be a longer wait. If you wish to discuss this with me further please contact me at the practice. Kind regards, Debbie Weston - Practice Manager

Cant believe how difficult it is to see a doctor. I tried to book an apt today over concern in taking a medication. Only to be told by the reception that its not possible.? She refused point blank and to write an email of my concern in an email

Review titled Getting to see a doctor is impossible
Rated 1 star out of 5

I had three prescriptions of the same antibiotics sent to my pharmacy over a four week period and my problem was not resolved, if they didn’t work the first & second time why would they send a third for the same antibiotic? I was offered an appointment with a clinician (I have no idea whether she was a doctor or not) she sent a 4th prescription for a different antibiotic and asked me to book a blood test when leaving, I couldn’t believe it when I was told I had to go to a different surgery for a blood test as they don’t do them at Barbourne and only on certain days at the other practices! I had to book it in my lunch break and the soonest was 21 days later! To top it all I received a parking fine because I hadn’t realised they now have parking restrictions in place! When I contacted the practice they gave me a letter to send to the parking company confirming my appointment and I sent it with an appeal against the fine but, the parking company said my appeal was unsuccessful as I didn’t enter my registration number in reception! I had proof but they couldn’t care less, I had to pay! What a pity the practice didn’t think to send their patients an email/letter warning us of the changes!! Yes there are signs there but I wasn’t looking for signs I was more concerned to see the carpark was full and I was short on time as I had to use my lunch break to attend and I saw a car pulling out so I was focused on getting that space. I went straight to the keypad in reception to book my arrival as I’ve always done and followed the instructions to take a seat downstairs………I completely missed the sign to enter my car registration! The parking company are aggressive and not the least bit interested that I was legitimately parked and they threatened me with further action if I didn’t pay up! I fully understand why the surgery has introduced this system but to use a company that fines patients who have an appointment and can prove it, is shocking. A letter from the medical centre should be enough to get the fine waived but, it seems to be a licence for the car parking company to make money out of innocent people!

Dear Patient, Thank you for your feedback. I am unable to respond to your comments regarding medication due to anonymity of post and would suggest you contact me directly. There are a great number of signs in prominent places, both in the car park and inside the practice to alert you to obtain a permit. A letter confirming your appointment does not guarantee the fine will be waived, this is an independent car parking company and you will need to follow their appeals process. We now offer appointments at other practices, as do all surgeries, when we are full, in order to meet the governments requirements for access and demand. Please contact me at the practice if you require any further assistance and I will be happy to help you. Regards, Debbie Weston - Practice Manager

Stay away go elsewhere. Went with serious problems left with leaflet and Gp stating no creams or medication could be given!,, however the actual leaflet told me there were medications that could be given stay away get a GP that is not run by the admin! And genuinely wants to provide care and puts patient welfare first !

Dear Patient, Many creams and ointments are now available over the counter and we have an NHS prescribing formulary that we have to adhere to. Without knowing what it was exactly you were asking for I am unable to comment further but if you would like to contact me at the practice I am happy to look into this for you.
