I sought a consultation with my GP for worsening health concerns. I was taken seriously, and offered immediate diagnostic measures. Now awaiting results. This review is for the professional manner whilst putting me more at ease.

  4. Review titled Helpful, friendly reception

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Really helpful receptionist, personable and I didn’t feel that my phoning was a problem to them (which I have felt from places in past). My queries were dealt with professionally and successfully.

  5. Review titled Exceptional Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Janet - Posted on 30 May 2024

It doesn’t matter which part of the practice team you interface with, they are outstanding, organised and efficient in dealing with the problem that you have. Importantly you feel as though they care! They put things in place as fast as possible and this is excellent especially if there a medical condition that needs to be resolved. My particular recent experience was them proactively contacting me as a Celiac to have bloods and a bone scan. First contact last week, bloods this and next week a scan!

  6. Review titled Communiation issues in practice & pharmacy

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Chris Mason - Posted on 26 May 2024

Visited Axbridge Surgery to a) renew a prescription for Indapamide, Ramipril & a new statin and b) inform them of an out of stock item on a previous prescription and request an alternative as advised to do so by the pharmacy. a) On the repeat prescription form, the pharmacist had hand written the statin as an option, as it had not been put on my repeat prescription record, so I was unable to order online. I explained this to the staff member and was told that the three items would be sent to the doctor to issue a script. b) As requested by a consultant, a script for Invicorp had been issued. On arriving at the pharmacy for both a) & b) the statin was missing from the prescription. Also, the pharmacy informed me that the Invicorp was unavailable and that I would need to request an alternative from the GP. So I returned to the Axbridge practice, to point out to the same staff member the lack of statin and to ask for an alternative to the Invicorp. I was told that if an item is unavailable, the pharmacy would email the practice to allow an alternative to be prescribed and I should revisit the pharmacy as the absence of an email indicated that the item should be available. Returning to Wedmore Pharmacy I was told that they did not send such emails and I would need to return to the GP to make the request. Back at Axbridge Surgery I dealt with a different (and I have to say much more efficient) staff member, who listened and understood the issue and decided to ring Axbridge Pharmacy to check on the availability of Viradal Duo (as identified in the Consultant letter of 17th May) as an alternative to Invicorp. The pharmacy confirmed that this would be available by the following Tuesday and the receptionist then submitted the request to the GP. I was very pleased to receive a follow up telephone call from this same receptionist later the same day confirming the issue of a script for a) the missing statin and b) the Viridal and that it would be available at Axbridge the following Tuesday. I regret to say I did not remember her name as she retrieved a confused situation and provided excellent follow up. The rest of it appeared to be lack of attention to detail and lack of communication between practice & pharmacy. I am fortunate that I am mobile and wiith my own vehicle and the time to be able to make numerous visits to both practice and pharmacy. If this had not been the case it would have represented significantly more than just a waste of time, effort and fuel.

  9. Review titled Good GP Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jonathan Hale - Posted on 19 April 2024

Very good e consult service with rapid response from suitably qualified heathcare professionals. GPs and other healthcare professionals actively listen and take action. If there is a need to call - you will get through! My experience of a GP practice used by my mother in South Gloucestershire was their e consult service was infrequently operational and it was not possible to successfully phone through to that practice due to lack of staff. The Axbridge & Wedmore practice offer a service significantly better than a radically larger GP practice on the outskirt of Bristol. Keep going.

  10. Review titled Dissappointed in Service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Teri Carr - Posted on 30 May 2024

When I have needed to see a Doctor waiting times are over a month, when I have been asked to see a Doctor waiting time is over a month then cancelled without being asked if I would like another appt, not even a telephone appt. Filling out an online appt is ignored, I had to follow mine up over a week later. However the Nursing Staff are great
