  1. Review titled Excellent GP surgery

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Nicola Lawrence - Posted on 19 September 2023

My youngest son had deteoriated during his day with his childminder. He was very miserable and had a chesty cough. When I picked him up at 1630 after work, she suggested I get him seen. I called during my ten min drive home. My GP called me back before I reached home. I explained the situation and he suggested I divert to the surgery. My GP then checked my son over and diagnosed a chest infection, prescribing a dose of antibiotics. I'm leaving this review because this is the sort of brilliant service I always get from the Alchester Medical Group, and I think I'm in danger of taking for granted but I realise it is truly excellent and I am very grateful for the super care they show towards my family. Thank you to you all.

  2. Review titled Pleasant Experience

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Suzelle Kuhn - Posted on 13 June 2023

Our almost 1 year old has been sick for a while and on Friday we noticed discharge from his ear with a fever. At first I wasn't sure if I should phone as I've always gotten the same response when our GP would phone us back. I got a call back from another GP and he asked us to bring in our baby so he could examine him. We where helped in a very professional manner and the GP was extremely helpful and explained everything really well to us. We moved here August last year and our little one has been constantly sick. As a first time mother in another country with no friends or family it's been really hard on me at times when he's been under the weather. I've always felt like I'm doing something wrong. By the end of the visit the GP explained to us that because of the move and change in climate and all it can take up to 2 years for all of us to adjust and that it would be normal for us the be more sick than what we usually are. My whole world changed in that moment, everything made sense and and it feld like a big load was lifted off my shoulders. I wasn't failing my child, it would just take time to adjust. I would like to personally thank the GP for taking the time to see us and to explain to us what is going on and happening. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much. You have settled a worrying mothers heart and mind. Thank you also to all the staff from starting point of when we phoned to reception when we got there. All of them where very helpful and kind x

  3. Review titled Paramedic five stars

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mrs Dean - Posted on 21 June 2023

It’s never easy when you need to see your gp but they happen to have a day off and although you know what you need in terms of treatment you’re still requested to come in for an appointment. However if you were lucky enough like me to be seen by the senior paramedic, you will never be disappointed. He always listens and takes his time to fully understand both the patient and the full extent of my circumstances. I’ve never been disappointed, and I’ve never been left in a state of ill health that warranted further 111 or a&e. He is an absolute credit to the Practice!

  5. Review titled Great members of staff

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Hilary - Posted on 20 April 2023

After a lengthy wait on the phone, I got an appointment within two hours. I was seen on time, the practitioner I saw was great, nothing was too much trouble. He was very thorough in checking and diagnosing my problem. His manner was very reassuring and he took his time with me. Having diagnosed my problem he requested a prescription from a doctor, which I picked up from the pharmacy during the visit. Having been ill for three weeks and being reluctant seek help, due to the current pressure the NHS is under. I decided I could wait no longer. I’m glad I did and was most impressed by the prompt action of the patient coordinator in booking me an appointment. My final comment is a big thankyou to the practitioner for his excellent service.

  6. Review titled Great Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Having visited a couple of times over the past few weeks for myself and my son, our experience with the new paramedic at Victoria house has been fantastic. Both times we have been seen quickly, and provided with the advice and help we needed. They were great with my son, and put him at ease.

  7. Review titled Swift and reassuring

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 April 2023

Following a recent health issue, I was contacted by nurse practitioner who quickly put me at ease and guided me accurately. They then requested to see me the same day and spent time listening to my concerns and checking me over. Added to this, they then requested to see me the following day to ensure my medication was working and that my situation wasn’t becoming worse. I felt really reassured by this and then was checked over by a doctor who confirmed the same views. Both members of staff were really reassuring and professional. They were quick to act and made the whole process a lot smoother.

  8. Review titled Impossible to get info to GP

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 February 2023

Trying to send info to the GP. The admin team rejected an email I Explained difficult to do econsult as I work between 9 and 4.30 weekdays but managed to get away from work to do this. Took 20 mins and had to go through lot of irrelevant questions because I was trying to send info to the GP Then received a reject as my GP wasn’t actually working that day. Can’t resubmit later I emailed the admin staff to ask if they could forward the message w details on but they declined again There is no post box to put a letter through if you wish to drop a note off out of work time Can’t help but feel they are trying to make it deliberately difficult to access GPs

  9. Review titled Thank you Alchester and 111

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 31 January 2023

Just want to say a huge thank you to both 111 service and Alchester Medical Practice. I had to make an emergency call to 111 after horrific pain and bleeding in my ear, quite worrying. I spoke to a few clinical staff and a doctor from The Horton, Banbury. Difficult to talk or hear too, I’ve lost my voice due to cold virus. Called first thing and saw a doctor who prescribed medication so thank you all. I know difficult times but lots of us appreciate what you do
