Review titled Poor practice

I have been registered with this practice all my life and honestly the way it has gone downhill in the past years is disgusting . Practically impossible to get an appointment the only way was to go on the day to make one for that day, there are never any routine appointments available so urgent ones were the only way and now they’re restricting it purely to phone lines which you can never get through to and in the rare occasion you can reception staff recommend walk in or a&e . On the rare occasion you manage to get an appointment it is never with a GP. I’ve been waiting for two referrals for well over a year despite trying my hardest to get through to them. All reviews for medical issues and medications are either through questionnaires or phone calls they say to ring and book appointments however again you cannot get through. Along with issues regarding management through saying they haven’t received emails when receipt was confirmed. Overall I understand the NHS is struggling however it feels like fighting for everything with this doctors and it’s unfortunate as it previously was an excellent doctors.

Review titled Poor Service all round
Rated 1 star out of 5

1) Rang at 8:00am for appointment, was number 2 in queue, finally answered then got cut off and had to ring back. Finally got through 20 mins later and no appointments available for the day 2) Physically went to surgery to book appoint at MSK clinic, all booked in for the the following week. Turned up at appointment only to be told that my appointment was not on their system. Wasted journey and time, rang GP from clinic only to be told there must have been an error, can't get another appointment for another week! 3) After being told I had to go to the hospital AE by receptionist, not even Dr, I was informed I would receive a call from Dr for follow up, 3 days later and still no call from Dr. 4) Called surgery at around 10:30 am, I was number 3 in the queue, I moved to being number 1 in the queue in a space of around 10 mins, i waited a further 20 mins and still at number 1, then decided to use the call back service (where i would not loose my position), 1 hr later and still no call back! Receptionist do not care about your condition or ailments, cannot speak with Dr, nobody calls you back, incorrect dosage on prescription given out in past.

Review titled Incompetent

I have been in the surgery today to collect a 4th urine sample pot. I was told that previous samples had to be re-done as they were sent to the hospital in the wrong bottles (by Albion Medical). I understand this happening once but three times can only be put down to incompetence. I have to take time away from work each time I need to drop off or collect a sample bottle - I will have been to the surgery eight times when I drop the latest one off.

Review titled Gone down hill.
Rated 2 stars out of 5

I've been a patient with this practice for many years and always had good care but since the appointments system changed to only dady to day appointments it is almost impossible to get an appointment. I'm a chronic kidney patient with Lupus and several other health problems. I'm constantly told by my consultants at hospital to go Immediately to my Gp if I'm unwell or have new symptoms. Today I made 172 attempts to get through from 8am to 8.20am only to be told once again that all appointments had gone because they close for half day today. What happened yesterday when I did the same thing....no appointments. I doubt therewillbe any tomorrow either. I know for a fact they keep taking patients on but can help the ones they have already. What's the point? This review will probably not even get a response from anyone in the nhs definitely not Albion practice. The whole system is flawed and needs to be changed no wonder A & E departments are on their knees trying to cope with patient constantly told to go to hospital with problems the GPS should be handling.

Review titled Getting bad to worse
Rated 1 star out of 5

I went to see the doctor before 8am. I had a very high blood pressure and severe headache. When the surgery opened I and all other patients waiting were told to get appointments after 10 days. Or go to A&E if urgent.

Review titled Fabulous registration clerk

I am new to the area and was a little unsure about registering at this practice when I read some of the reviews but the registration clerk was fantastic. She has such a warm and welcoming personally it was a pleasure to deal with her and l only hope the rest of the staff are the same. A credit to the surgery.

Review titled No compassion or care for children under 5

Rang the surgery to request an appointment with the doctor for my 3 year old son who started with vomiting last night. I explained to the receptionist that my cousins little boy aged 4 has just recently passed away suddenly after he started with similar symptoms. The response was "we have nothing left today, we are not an emergency service and so you need to go to the urgent care center". Ok I was signposted elsewhere to get seen but I wasn't asked of my sons name so it could be recorded into his notes that I rang, there was no empathy after I had told them what had just happened to my cousins little boy and I asked if there was a policy in place to see under 5s on the day and she just repeated that there was nothing left for today and to go to the urgent care center with no empathy what so ever.

Review titled Poor appointment system
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Gillian - Posted on 30 May 2023
I cannot complain about the GP service when I do get to see the Doctor. However getting an appointment is so hard. If you don't feel well or are in pain you don't want to be sat by the phone fir 20 minutes keep trying to get through to the reception. The phone cuts off every time. I start phoning at 8 am and get nowhere. I finally get into a que and then I speak to the reception it is now 8.35 and all appointments have gone. I ask if there is anything this week. I am told to try again tomorrow as it is a day to day booking system. This is a ridiculous system. I work I have to set off at 7 am to be at work for 8 so to ring at 8 means not going in work till later. How am I supposed to tell my workplace that I will be in late as I am trying to get an appointment at the doctors? Why can I not make advanced appointments so I can plan to get there? I simply cannot keep trying the phone each day hoping to get an appointment and sitting by the phone for 30 minutes only to discover I can't get an appointment today and I need to try tomorrow. I have pain in my shoulder. I can take pain relief but I need to find out the cause and if I can do anything else. The system is rubbish it needs to change
