Receptionist staff were very helpful and accommodating. They were polite and approachable. The dentist was very thorough and explained everything and answered all questions. I was seen timely. Always a good experience.

I have been with the same dentists for many years. I had no problems in booking my appointment which was for a 6 monthly check-up. The visit was short and i only needed a clean and polish which did not take long. They were very professional.

I have had some ongoing treatment with this practice, and on the last visit, was met with an additional cost which had not been specified previously, although I had gone through costs with them on each occasion I attended as we had agreed a % to be paid on each visit. So this final cost was unexpected, even the receptionist was confused. She first said it was because my first visit was an ‘emergency visit’ - which it wasn’t.. I waited 2 weeks for that appointment, there’s nothing urgent about a 2 week wait. She then retracted that and said it’s an ‘examination fee’ but couldn’t explain why this was not mentioned before and only on the last day was it presented to me. It’s not a great customer experience, I would really urge this practice to review their processes to better understand how they communicate costs to customers. We’re in a cost of living crises right now, whilst I’m able to afford it, not everyone else can and Abbey Dental have a duty of care to their customer and patients. Transparency of cost is extremely important, having hidden costs / unexplained costs does not align with NHS values in anyway. I hope this gets investigated and resolved and doesn’t happen to anyone else.

My last visit required an extraction and addition of a replacement to an existing plate. Whole procedure carried out in two appointments in 24 hours.

I have been going to this dental practice out of convenience. Every visit I feel has been a toss up of being reprimanded, shoved through the system, or completely ignored. The receptionists are absolutely lovely, but the dentists are abrupt with little care to the person they are treating. Example, I have exceptional teeth, hygiene, and care on a regular basis, I pay for my treatments out of pocket and do not rely on the NHS, but I get frustration as a reply when countering or even asking for assistance or help; I am told it is what it is one moment, yet previously it was a different way. I was prescribed antibiotics, which I repeatedly asked if it is compatible with my allergies, it in fact was not and I ended up suffering a month long stint of shingles because of it. Thankfully I could work from home while battling the issue. I will go if needed but I will be looking for a new dentist as my last straw was the last visit I had where I asked for information and I was told there is no way to comply with what I was asking, although previously there was!
