Had both eyes corrected at separate times. Each time the cataract procedure was carried out very efficiently. Extremely pleased with the results.

I’ve had laser treatment today which literally took three minutes and no discomfort whatsoever. I had cataracts removed last year also at SpaMedica. The staff are really lovely. Especially the man who greets you on arrival. Such a cheeky chappie and puts you at ease with his jokes and banter. The equipment is like something out of a James Bond movie. So high tech and quite mind blowing what they can do and how quick the procedures are. The whole clinic is spotless and the free hot drinks and biscuits is a nice touch. I honesty can’t recommend them enough. Absolutely fantastic service from start to finish and their waiting list has been no more than a week or so on all three occasions that I’ve visited. Having the cataracts removed completely changed my life. They weren’t very high on the grading scale but they were affecting the sharpness of my vision. After removal, my vision was perfect for around six months and then I noticed it wasn’t as sharp. When they remove cataracts, they leave a bit of membrane to sit the new lense in. And this can cloud and cause the same vision problems that the original cataract did. Hence the laser treatment today and I can already see clearly again with that eye. I’m very happy and extremely grateful for the treatment and the wonderful service I’ve received. Thank you NHS and SpaMedica.

The procedure was quick and painless with lovely people around me at the clinic. My only criticism is the length of time it took from seeing the optician and being referred to the time of the assessment and then the procedure. Most it seems wait no more than 2 months start to finish whereas I was referred in February and treatment not until July. Phoned several times and when mentioned at clinic with the friendly staff and consultant everyone said it was not at all usual so I think I must have fallen through an administrative net. Nice place to go, looked after well and made to feel welcome.

All good. From arranging appointment, tests and the cataract surgery. All the staff were very helpful and informative. Receptionists, nurses and doctors. The whole area is kept extremely clean and tidy with a lady going around regularly ensuring seats etc are disinfected. The surgery itself only took around 10 minutes though waiting for the eye to dilate takes over an hour. Easily understood instructions were given when leaving on how to take eye drops etc. The whole experience was made as pleasant as possible and I would certainly recommend to friends.

Having previously not heard of SpaMedica I can advise you that from the initial examination to the operation my experience was first class. The staff in every section were well trained and very professional . I cannot fault the way I was treated as this is a very efficient run hospital.
