I had one cataract operation in December with faultless treatment. Yesterday I found very stressful, I do realise there was a big problem with the patient before me but I was left in the pre theatre room on my own a very long time with no explanation or offer of refreshment When I did go into the theatre it was such different treatment from my previous operation, it was painful, no friendly chat and I was so wetted by eye irrigation my hair had to be dried with paper towels later, like me the next man seen experienced a very wet jumper too. It was then a very long wait while the discharge nurse dealt with the unfortunate patient who had to be sent to Bristol. I do realise these things happen but surely refreshments could have been offered during a long wait to be seen? When seen I queried not having drops to ease the eye as I was in December, told ‘go to Tesco and buy your own’ was not the reply I expected. The appointment took so long my driver came to see if I was alright and apart from tea on arrival I’d had no further offer in the next 3.5 hours.

This was the second eye I had done at SpaMedica Truro and I am delighted with the result. The staff are friendly, efficient and helpful, explaining what they are doing and ensuring understanding the whole way through. No question is deemed silly and they take time to ensure your comfort during what could be seen as a nerve racking experience for some. The whole place is so clean, I was extremely impressed and would have no hesitation in recommending them.

I had cataract surgery recently at the Spa Medica Centre in Truro. Right from the start it was a very sleek experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. The main thing was being put at ease once into the pre-op area. The staff were professional but also approachable. The pre-op nurse and post-op nurse were especially friendly and made me feel comfortable. The surgeon kept me informed throughout the procedure and was extremely proficient. The procedure was pain-free (no needles) and very quick. My post-surgery advice was great. I would definitely go to Spamedica for my next surgery. Thank you guys you were fab.

It was all brilliant but only made 9and1/2 out of 10 because the back rest on the table was not electric this would complete the experience as many of my friends agree especially for those like me have had open heart surgery and ribs stitched only for them to come undone/ Stress

I found courtesy and comfort from the very beginning. The surgery and nursing staff looked after me perfectly. I am so very grateful for everything I experienced at Spamedica Truro
