Initial Assessment very uncomfortable. With cataracts bright lights are painful. Assessment for second cataract operation only carried out by phone 2 days before operation due and resulted in postponement and thus loss of money due to last minute cancellation of arrangements for care of spouse and travel. Postponement due to reason, which was not mentioned in booklet. Treatment centre distant and difficult to access except by (expensive) taxi rides. After each phase (Pre-assessment Op1 and Op2), a letter was sent to the wrong GP (although the right practice) but I was not sent a copy, which meant that I was unaware of the need to extend dosing my eyes beyond the 14 day period following each operation, until I happened to consult my GP notes on another matter and spotted the correspondence from Spa Medica. However the actual operations were well conducted etc. and I am pleased with results.

Very professional and efficient and staff are very helpful and friendly. They make the whole process very stress free and put you at ease from the start.

I only had a short wait to hear from them regarding my appointment, and once there everyone was very friendly and attentive. I felt that nothing was too great for them.

Thanks to all for putting me at ease . Everything was explained to me , all regarding the steps of the procedure. Fantastic staff, reassuring and the surgeon was great and explained everything.

From arrival through to leaving everyone was very professional and attentive. The procedure was explained in detail and I felt very relaxed because of this.

Got to admit I was rather scared,the thought of what they were going to do. But put at ease straight away lovely people so kind.also the standard of cleanliness was perfect,I feel no fear of having second eye done.

For the whole cataract process I experienced, all the staff from Meet and greet, receptionist, cleaner, medical staff to surgeon were polite, friendly, smart and attentive. I could not fault this facility and they are a credit to the SpaMedica brand.

Having had cataract removal at Bournemouth hospital and now more recently in this private clinic ( paid for by nhs) I would say Bournemouth is superior. All staff at clinic were polite, helpful and informative but I would have liked a bit of time in between eye drops (like you do in Bournemouth)for them to take affect. Once in operating theatre it’s all done extremely quickly ( so much so I heard the next person coming in straight after me - I can only presume they are cleaning it correctly) it’s like a production factory. Felt surgeon a little irritated with me as I struggled to keep my eye open due to the very bright light you have to look into ( before the face covering goes on ) Happy enough with service and whilst there is a longer waiting list for Bournemouth I would recommend them over this private clinic
