I had a cataract operation at Spamedica Bedford and although I did not like the procedure I have to say that the service I received was excellent. From the moment I arrived until the moment I left I felt valued and looked after. I was at the centre for just over 2.5 hours which included signing in, seeing the nurse for eyedrops to numb the eye, meeting the consultant, having the procedure, going through a very thorough aftercare process and being discharged. At every stage the staff were pleasnat and professional, everything was explained to me and I felt safe and reassured. The procedure was quick and although I did not like it there was no pain and no discomfort. I am really impressed by Spamedica who give a private health care style service on the NHS - whats not to like! I have already told a friend about them and they had their procedure 7 months before the NHS could offer which means they can now read and get on wiith their life, as I am doing with mine. Thank you.

I have had two cataract operations at SpaMedica in Bedford. They have both been very successful in outcome. I found SpaMedica to be well organised and efficient; keeping to time and not involving long waits, other than required as part of the treatment.

I was very nervous but the staff put me at ease, very professional and treated me as a person not a number. Theatre staff really lovely and and even had relaxing music on which helped me a lot to keep calm. A very big thank you to all at this centre x

The whole process from Reception to Discharge was running very smooth and efficient. Staff were friendly and knew what they were doing. Any waiting time or delay was minimal. Appointments were made within a short timeframe.

Wonderful service from start to finish. Every person is kind and helpful - nothing is too much trouble. SpaMedica has an excellent business model and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Bedford Clinic. Cataract surgery truly is life changing instantly. I am so very grateful to have good eyesight restored. Thank you.

From the moment I arrived at SpaMedica I was made to feel ' at home', shown utmost respect and dealt with professionally. This was an example of sound team work by all of the staff at SpaMedica - well done to everyone in the Bedford plant.

Second cataract operation completed at Spa Medica Bedford. Friends of mine are paying £'000 for private treatment. The NHS service I received from Spa Medica, for both cataract operations about a year apart, was second to none. Every step of the way was fully explained and the time between optician referral and the post operation visit was less than 2 months. Each of the three visits, pre operation, operation and post operation took about 2 hours but the operation itself was no more than 5 minutes. I would suggest all opticians refer those needing a cataract operation to Spa Medica.

My husband Thomas Marshall had Cataract surgery on the 21st February 2023. He felt that he was treated with great care and compassion. He is looking forward to having his second eye treated once the time is appropriate. My husband has given his consent for me to do the review on his behalf .
