  1. Review titled Amazing service & staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by David Marsh - Posted on 13 November 2023

I had to go tropical diseases unit at university college hospital london following a trip to s. america. They were so thorough, efficient and kind. One of their reception staff took me down to the pharmacy & showed me the way to the main site, as referred by the doc I saw. I was given a clear prescription for one diagnosis & then referred to same day emergency care unit. The receptionist, volunteer & nurse there were excellent. I am.awaiting blood results prior to seeing a doc - however the doc came to me whilst waiting for the blood results coming through, just to keep me updated. The service in both units has been exemplary & sadly, in stark contrast to some other hospital experiences. If only this could be replicated throughout the national health service

Unfortunately out experience is really bad.we had an appointment on Saturday for my wife to give birth.they cancelled last min.Monday we went back and they put her in a chair for 6hours( she is 9months pregnant ) because they couldn’t find free bed.around 2 in the morning they found us a bed,it’s Wednesday now so we are 3 days in the hospital and still cannot give birth because they don’t have free bed in the labour this time .my wife is in a real pain but they can’t do anything until they have a free bed.she didn’t sleep for 2 days now but still nothing.i hope in the end that everything will be ok.we both not feel safe for my wife and the child that is coming.i don’t recommend anyone to come here. Positive: everyone is friendly and everything is super clean

  4. Review titled Wonderful staff at endoscopy unit

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 02 November 2023

I attended the endoscopy unit with my daughter. She explained to the staff that she had previously had a bad experience at another hospital. The staff were absolutely wonderful and looked after my daughter so well. They were attentive, kind and caring. I was able to stay with her until she went under and the care my daughter received was faultless. My daughter was put at ease which resulted in a successful outcome from the procedure. This has to be one of the best experiences we have had of the NHS as a family. Thank you so much.

  6. Review titled Not a great experience

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Can't fault the surgeon. He did a fantastic job with my operation. The issue is with my post-surgery appointment aftercare. They canceled my initial appointment due to strikes, and the second time they canceled without notifying me. As I didn't 'turn up', they discharged me back to my GP. Now I have to go back to my GP to arrange an appointment which is going to delay things. They really should've called me to let me know what was going on.

  7. Review titled Excellent Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Muhammad Hanif Patel - Posted on 04 September 2023

I am so, so grateful for my stay in the AMU ward bed 21. Everyone involved in my care was absolutely wonderful (and I could see the little kindnesses they showed to other patients also, above and beyond their jobs). No-one chooses to need treatment (!) but the staff here make the experience as pleasant as possible, and their patients are very fortunate! From the A & E department to the AMU ward bed 2,All the doctors, nurses and the admin staff were great and gave an excellent service.

  8. Review titled Amazing A&E

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mollie - Posted on 10 July 2023

Everyone was so kind, informative and efficient. I only waited 2.5hrs including xrays and cast being completed. Truely amazing. I feel very lucky to have been cared for by these people & for the NHS in general.

  9. Review titled Great on the whole except once

by Anonymous - Posted on 02 May 2024

I have used this hospital for various reasons over the last 2 years. Every time I have had a very good experience and I am very grateful for that. Although one time I had to go to A&E as my copper coil had come out and it was very painful. I mentioned how I wanted my partner with me while they were examining me intermittently who was waiting near by. I was told that they were not okay with my partner being there and that it made them uncomfortable even though I specifically didn’t want to be alone as I have had a bad experience before. I never had the courage to say anything before because I thought I was making a bigger deal out of something but it still bothers me to this day and I think the care should be about how the patient feels not the A&E doctor or nurse on duty. I wouldn’t want anyone else to have that experience of crying and feeling really anxious whilst being examined. Other than this experience I have only ever had positive experiences with really lovely people.
