  1. Review titled Awful service/Closes earlier than it should.

    I needed to go to the pharmacy late on a Sunday afternoon/evening. I saw the pharmacy was open until 8:30pm on the NHS website, I rang ahead and spoke to a woman who confirmed they would be open until 8:30pm. After finishing work I had only a short period of time to travel nearly 15 miles to get here and I arrived at 8:23pm, I did not need a prescription, just an over the counter item. For some reason upon my arrival they had already closed and were locking the building. I spoke to the woman closing up and explained how I’d called ahead regarding their closing time and how far I’d travelled to get here but she did not care, she was abrupt and rude and proceeded to ignore me and walk away. I understand I was cutting it close to the closing time but 7 minutes is plenty of time to run in and buy one single item. There is a close time for a reason. I ended up having to travel a further 26 miles to the next pharmacy and then over 40 miles to get back home, in pain too may I add, all because they couldn’t stay open for 7 more minutes. Additionally, when calling to confirm the close time she was very short with me. I’m nearly 30 years old but I look and sound a lot younger than I am and I fear this may be the reason for her rudeness. Maybe if I were older I would’ve received better treatment. This may sound trivial but it caused a great deal of stress unnecessarily, just because of a few minutes. I will not be going to this pharmacy again nor do I recommend it to anyone. This is not the first issue I’ve had at this pharmacy but it will be the last.

  2. Review titled One month's supply medication is problematic

    My comment is directed at commissioners, not at the pharmacy. I strongly urge commissioners to re-consider their decision to allow patients to collect only one month's supply of medicines at a time. This blanket rule seems illogical at a time when GPs and pharmacists are so over-stretched. Surely an algorithm could be developed that identifies patients on stable, long-term medication regimes who undergo only an annual medication review, so that they could be prescribed three months of medication at a time? I have no idea how many patients per pharmacy this would impact, but even if only a few, it would reduce pharmacist and GP work-load and would greatly improve the patient experience. Queuing in ever lengthening queues, every month, for a medicine that I need to take for the rest of my life is far from ideal. Patients without access to transport or support are particularly impacted by this decision by commissioners, and I wonder if it has affected medication adherence in some cases, widening health inequalities.

    For the second consecutive month I had to wait in excess of 30 minutes to be served with my repeat prescription. This time it was slightly different as' although the Pharmacy had received it from Watton Medical Practice the prescribed tablets were not ready. I was asked to come back later. Alternatively I could have waited for un unspecified time which was not acceptable to me as I was already suffering from having to stand for so long. All seats were taken by those who also had to wait. Surely it was not beyond the wit of the management to realise that with the closure of Boots in the High Street there would be increased demands on their services. This begs the question as to why they did not increase the number of counter staff so as to cope satisfactorily. I have no doubt that some suitably qualified staff would have been available from Boots. I intend to help the situation in future by collecting my regular repeat prescriptions from a different pharmacy

    I needed some made to measure compression socks for health reasons ,as this is my local chemist I got my prescription and took it there , was told they would not get them. I have had to take the prescription to a chemist 15 miles away ,who were quite happy to sort it for me.

    The people working in the pharmacy are excellent. They are clearly working hard and have a lot to do but they always have been professional and very helpful, going out of their way to get prescriptions ready urgently when absolutely necessary. You do have to allow at least 7 days for prescriptions to be ready but if you are organised then this is a small price to pay for the excellent service.

    An item had been missed from a prescription. Visited WMP and was told that the item would be signed off on Monday afternoon. Went to Total health and explained the situation and the lady said she would ensure it was dealt with on receipt. It was ready later in Monday. Once again excellent service. Thank you everyone.

    I have used this chemist on many occasions and they have always been extremely helpful. I am housebound at the moment and they have delivered my prescriptions to me very quickly which I am so grateful for.

    Given a prescription by 111, advised to collect from this pharmacy because it’s open until 11pm! Update your opening hours!!! Simple business practice! Last updated 26th January 2023!!! What a joke
