  1. Review titled I will never use them again

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have used two branches of Boots pharmacy in Exeter for several years. Both are very slow at the counter, have unmanageably long queues, are utterly clueless about disability accessibility, and there are periodic mistakes with getting medications in on time, with little or no communication. Was supplied the wrong medication once. Individual staff vary obviously and a few have been helpful on the phone (when they answered it...). However I have never seen any of them move quickly or display any commitment to getting the queues down. A bad place to be if you are sick or disabled. I recently changed to Lloyds Direct and have my medications delivered, after reading positive reviews online, and so far they have been amazing - it would have saved me a lot of time and stress if I'd switched earlier.

How does it take 3 weeks to do a repeat prescription! Service at Bexleyheath Boots pharmacy is shocking, if I could find somewhere else I would!!

  4. Review titled Pharmacist oblivious

I had an unbelievable 45 minute wait to pick up antibiotics today at the Maghull store. They do not care if you are actually in the store I saw many prescriptions waiting to be picked up. This was my second try today will not recommend as the Pharmacist took 10 mins to give 2 flu jabs knowing me and others were waiting.

  5. Review titled Shambolic Organization for Flu Jabs

Rated 1 star out of 5

As a vulnerable person I booked a flu jab online at Boots, picking the pharmacy at Heswall, Wirral. The system immediately sent a confirmatory text. On the appointed day I travelled 5 miles to the pharmacy and went to the counter a few minutes before the specified time. Assistant says sorry we are not doing any Flu Jabs because we don't have a suitable person in store any more. You could try West Kirby (another 10 miles away). 1. How difficult would it have been for their system to send a text to people whose appointments could not be met? 2. And now the online booking system takes me to a list of the nearest Boots pharmacies, but it does not respond to click on the "book time slot" button. With Boots its always a gamble whether they will deliver.

  6. Review titled Avoid at all costs

Rated 1 star out of 5

Went to Boots Sixfields, Northampton and stood in a queue for 1 hr to get medication. If I had not run out of tablets I would have left. This is the second time I had been, waited 30 minutes the previous time and left due to my anxiety. There were two men with mobility problems and no recognition of them. 5 staff working but service very slow. Once you had been seen, still had to wait and only two chairs. The level of service has definitely deteriorated, since they do not pack their own prescriptions anymore, they come from a central pharmacy, so you wait longer for getting them. Will be changing to another pharmacy for my next prescriptions.

  8. Review titled Inadequate Flu Vaccination Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 29 September 2022

I booked up a Flu vaccination at a Boots Coventry Chemist on-line where I submitted my details that I was over 65 and so eligible for a free nhs vaccination. My appointment was for 15:50. I arrived at Boots at 15:35 and was asked at the Prescription counter if I had completed a questionnaire for the Flu jab. I said that I hadn't been prompted for this when I made my on-line booking, so I was asked to complete one on-line on my mobile phone and send it, which I did. I noticed a large queue for the prescription desk was forming. This was because there was only Pharmacist on duty and she was expected to manage both the prescription service and administer the Flu vaccinations. It was 16:15 when I was asked by the Pharmacist to accompany her for the jab. She asked me details about myself and if I was eligible for an nhs vaccination. I said that she should already have all this information on the Boots system since I had completed the questionnaire. She said that she was told I hadn't been able to complete this but then found the information. The Pharmacist did not have Flu injection with her so she then had to return to the Prescription area to collect it. I was wearing a ppe mask to guard against Covid because I am classified as a vulnerable person. Unfortunately, the Pharmacist wasn't. When I came out of the cubicle there was an even larger queue and a number of people waiting for vaccinations. Boots are getting paid for this Flu rollout and expect a shortage of staff to fit this in to an already busy prescription service. Shame on you Boots.
