Review titled Randomly closing
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 20 February 2024
I checked the website to make sure the pharmacy was open. Website said open all from 8.30am to 6.30pm and this was checked 3 weeks ago. Turns out they close for lunch between 1-1.30pm. This wouldn’t have been a problem as I arrived at 12.15. But it was shut with a handwritten note saying it would open at 1.30pm! No reason given. I’ve wasted half an hour and had a painful there and back which I’m going to have to repeat. There may be staff shortages but there needs to be a better way to communicate these random closures. I would advise everyone to always phone beforehand to check whether the pharmacy is open to avoid a wasted trip.

Review titled They answer the phone!

One of 20 pharmacies I called that actually answer the phone. It was an urgent prescription requirement that I could not drive around all day for. Thank you Boots Lawson Road for assisting me.

Review titled Good customer service under pressure
Rated 4 stars out of 5

On my last visit to the pharmacy there was a very long queue. this was partly due to a limited Pharmacist presence. However, in the face of much moaning and muttering from the customers waiting, the staff were polite and moved as efficiently as possible in the circumstances. The increased number of customers will be a direct result of the closure of the other pharmacy on Lawson Road and the Boots store in Anglia Square. I really hope Boots take these circumstances into account and allocate extra staff to cope with the overflow. Not everyone can access prescriptions delivered by post etc. Many people will also need to visit to the pharmacy to buy over the counter products. Thank you Pharmacy staff, we do appreciate you.
