    My husband is having end-of-life treatment, supported by Sirona District Nurses (North Bristol). At every stage of supposed treatment, from assessment to visits we have been let down. The purpose of the support was explained in various, conflicting ways. Paperwork was incomplete and late, though eventually it was completed. Visits did not materialise as the time promised, often with no further information available. Three visits did occur, each of which entailed a different treatment and recommendation from each Nurse. Other times the Nurse 'could not find the address' (which gets regular deliveries from all other contractors). The phone system is irregular and misleading. Since the District Nurse team is the sole conduit for other services (eg medical equipment, medications) the failure to provide even a skeleton service in a coherent way is shortening my husband's life even more, and more uncomfortably.

    Sirona nurses provided a very high standard of end-of-life care to my mum. All the nurses were caring, compassionate, patient and good humoured. As well as caring for mum, they were happy to spend time supporting our family by explaining how to help mum and what to expect. The only bad bit about our experience was the telephone line. A couple of nights when we really needed to talk to someone, we were unable to get through. This was very distressing!
