  1. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jennifer Foreman - Posted on 26 August 2024

Have Psicon Canterbury twice - for both my daughters. One with ASD and my older daughter most recently with ADHD. Efficient, friendly and very kind. Assessment was detailed and very happy with level of support and understanding. Information given to us was clear and the consultant was patient and went through any thing we did not understand. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a private assessment/diagnosis for their child.

  3. Review titled Clear process, amazing team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My children have recently undergone autism assessments with Psicon after being transferred by the NHS due to a long wait. Psicon have kept us informed and updated, everyone we have spoken to has been incredibly professional, patient, and responsive with the children. We were verbally advised of the diagnosis at the conclusion of the second assessment.

  4. Review titled Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable

Rated 5 stars out of 5

From the first contact I had from Psicon to the assessment appointment was really quick (about 2 weeks) and they saw me at a weekend and over a video call which was really convenient and meant I didn't need to take any time off work. The assessor was really friendly and knowledgeable, was happy to take the time to explain everything really clearly, and generally helped to make the experience really positive. I also was told my diagnosis at the end of the video call, which I wasn't expecting, so that was really great. All-in-all I would really recommend Psicon's service.

  6. Review titled Avoid

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Alessia - Posted on 09 May 2024

Time scales are incorrect. You will be seen sooner with Camhs They added 6 months to my additional waiting time in comparison to Camhs. I was quite specific in asking this question to Camhs, they emailed me confirming it would be sooner than waiting with them, unfortunately this is not the case and I can’t go back to Camhs as I will start the waiting process again. Psicon themselves were extremely friendly until I questioned their waiting times then they became defensive and rude and the advisor began sniggering in the background to a colleague. Avoid

    Review titled Psicon Limited

Dear Alessia Thank you taking the time to post your review. We're really sorry to hear that you felt misled around waiting times. If you haven't done so already, please do contact our client experience team with the details of your concerns via feedback@psicon.co.uk as we would be keen to understand what went wrong for you in more detail. In terms of the transfer between CAMHS to Psicon, your local NHS service will have contacted Psicon to support with their waiting list. They ask for support in cases where it is likely that patients will be seen sooner if transferred to Psicon than if they remain on the waiting list. In these scenarios, the CAMHS service will select the patients from their waiting list and contact families to inform them of the proposed transfer and provide an opportunity to stay with CAMHS or be transferred. Psicon have no involvement in the selection process. Prior to the transfer of cases, Psicon will have transparent discussions with CAMHS around the number of patients they wish us to see and we will be clear about how long it will take to assess that specific number of children and young people. During the waiting list initiative, we meet regularly with the CAMHS service to discuss progress and to ensure we are held to account with regards to meeting clinical quality standards. We have supported many NHS Trusts and ICBs with these projects and have assessed over 18,000 patients on behalf of the NHS, with over 90% of families rating us as good or very good following their assessment. We do recognise that on occasions things don't go according to plan and in these situations we always welcome feedback so that we can improve our systems and processes. Thank you once again for posting about your experience and we hope you will make contact with our client experience team directly soon. Kind regards Psicon

  7. Review titled Good alternative to private adhd assessment

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 June 2024

Once referred, Psicon managed to complete my teenage son's adhd assessment within a couple of months, rather than having to wait the year and a half we'd been quoted by camhs. Worth the switch!

  9. Review titled Empathetic, understanding and helpful

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Kevin - Posted on 10 May 2024

I found my experience with Psicon from the initial point of contact extremely efficient, courteous, professional, engaging and helpful. I was very unsure, scared and somewhat discombobulated by the thought of the actual assessment as I personally found filling out the pre-assessment papers difficult (delving into the self and past). However, the actual experience was in fact in reality very easy going, all the staff from booking in, to completion of the assessment and immediate oral fed back on the assessment itself were truly done with great courtesy, empathy and efficiency. I think the environment and setting was also conducive to a warm, relaxed and humanising experience. I am most grateful to those in the NHS and at Psicon with the help and assistance they have given and commend them for it. The unravelling of my life over the last five years when autism started to be mentioned has been extremely difficult for me on a personal, physical and mental health level. This assessment has helped me start to build a framework of understanding of myself as I Invariably spent a lot of time looking back over my life and wondering whether my reaction to XYZ or that happening of ABC maybe it was because of my autism. I still don’t nor may never know, but it bothers me less I guess. Since the assessment I feel a degree lightness and ease of mind as it were, it’s kind of difficult to fully encapsulate my exact feelings and thoughts but I think/believe the assessment has helped this sense of “lightness and ease of mind” I cant quite fully describe. All in all I would say it was most definitely a most positive and helpful experience.

  10. Review titled Great Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Claire - Posted on 25 May 2024

We used the company as private clients owing to the long waiting time. Within 5 months my daughter has seen been seen, assessed, diagnosed and receives medication to support her. The people we have met have been friendly and helpful. They have explained things in a simple, child friendly way to allow my daughter to understand what has been happening as well.
