  2. Review titled Great practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anika Donkor - Posted on 13 September 2024

I was very anxious about my visit and the procedure but the staff made me feel very welcome and safe. They explained everything and made sure I understood everything and was happy with it. During the procedure the consultant and the assistants were very supportive and encouraging and made me feel much more calm.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

All the staff were very attentive and everything was explained thoroughly in stages which was great and they all answered any questions I had. It didn’t feel rushed or careless, they were extremely helpful, polite, understanding and funny which helped ease my nervousness. From the reception to the nurses and surgery staff - thank you very much.

  6. Review titled Not great

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Things are moving painfully slow with Medefer, my appointment was nearly 4 months ago and I am no further forward. Emails I send are ignored, no reply. When I rang for an update recently they told me their system was down so couldn't tell me if they'd received my blood or stool test results then said I'd have to send them copies myself from my NHS app? Surely that's their job to sort not mine?? Fed up of chasing and not getting anywhere!

  7. Review titled Medefer experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Stephanie Clarke - Posted on 31 July 2024

Excellent consultation, felt for once that I have been listened too, first time in 4 years, I felt that I mattered, especially that at some point my doctor suggested it is all in my mind, and I was questioning myself. Thank you Medefer

  8. Review titled Unsatisfactory service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Martin - Posted on 06 April 2024

I've had to arrange a new appointment to provide urine and blood sample again for prostate check as Medefer hadn't submitted my sample to the lab before the alloted time so sample was spoilt. Totally unacceptable as I have a needle phoebia and I thought sample delivery was an essential part of their service. Totally unacceptable!!

Dear patient, Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience you experienced due to our partner pathology laboratory collecting samples from the clinic later than they had scheduled to. This is rare and unforeseen circumstance led to the samples not being stable, which meant that an accurate result could not be interpreted safely. Please know that as soon as we were made aware of this incident, we made every effort to promptly contact all affected patients to arrange for retesting. We understand the added stress and frustration this situation may have caused, especially considering your needle phobia. We want to assure you that sample collection issues like this are rare and not typical of our service, and we are taking steps to prevent similar occurrences in the future. Your health and comfort are of utmost importance to us, and we deeply regret any distress this situation has caused. If you would like to discuss these issues, we would be grateful if you could please contact us on 08000 112 113 (between 8am and 6pm) or by email at feedback@medefer.com. Alternatively, you can write to our CEO, at bahman@medefer.com. We will arrange a member of our team to contact you. They will work with you to understand the specific issues you are facing and will take the necessary steps to resolve them as quickly as possible. The Medefer Team

  9. Review titled Inhumane

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 January 2024

I was originally really impressed because everything moved quickly and there was a lot of communication. I requested a call with a consultant and I was given an appointment for within a few days, and the consultant was really lovely. They informed me that if I received a letter after my tests that it would mean everything was okay, and if I was given an appointment there was something to discuss, and I believe that they thought that was true. However I was then informed by letter that I have cancer. I received a call from Medefer saying that they had a letter for me and could they please have my email address, so I was relieved. Only to open the email 10 minutes later and find that news. And my GP told me that it wasn't the first time that this has happened. In the same letter it says that I live alone, so logically receiving that letter I wouldn't have any immediate support. I think that Medefer is a great idea and down the line can be an absolute asset, but I just can't believe the lack of empathy to tell a 23 year old they have cancer in an email. Once that is addressed then Medefer will be a positive addition to the NHS.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are dedicated to ensuring our patients receive prompt and excellent care. Our standard process in this circumstance is to make a phone call before sending any correspondence to our patients. If we are unable to reach someone by phone, we continue to send the necessary information by post promptly to avoid any delays in their care. Upon reviewing your feedback, we have identified an issue where our standard letter does not reflect that we made attempts to contact. We are actively updating our processes to address this oversight. While we don't have all the details of your particular situation, we appreciate your input, and it's unclear if our usual process was followed. We are committed to investigating further to enhance our service. If you're open to discussing these concerns, please feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience on 08000 112 113 (between 8am and 6pm) or by email at feedback@medefer.com. Alternatively, you can write to our CEO, at bahman@medefer.com. We will arrange a member of our team to contact you. I didnt to have to wait long for the appointment, I had the procedure explained over the phone and leaflet through post, I was seen and had the procedure done without much delay and the procedure was comfortable.
