Review titled Superb hospital to receive treatment at
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 28 August 2024
Every member of nursing/operating theatre teams I met & others, including the young lady who took my order for an after-operation sandwich & the lady who wheeled me down to the car on discharge; the Consultant who performed my surgery, the anaesthetist & the physiotherapist were wonderful. Everyone ensured I was put at ease; reassured about the surgery & they ensured my privacy when changing etc. was maintained. The whole experience was superb. I cannot thank the team enough. Wonderful hospital

Phone calls - sat on hold for nearly an hour to speak to reception, this was over several days and some days I gave up. If I pressed that I was paying for my treatment - straight through to speak to someone, then put on hold for 45 minutes before I got to speak to someone. Arrived for appointment- been cancelled with no notice to me. Second opinion at another hospital - switchboard actually answer and looks like I'll be getting my op shortly, still waiting for Woodthorpe after 4 years. I would not recommend

Review titled lights on , but nobody at home ?
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Tim Lomas - Posted on 24 July 2024
I had a procedure booked with this hospital 4 months in advance, by their Urology consultant, Made the hour long journey yesterday through a very busy Nottingham arrived well in time only to be told by the receptionist that they didn't know anything about my operation , then on further investigation she said there was nobody there to carry it out and several other people had the same experience , apparently the consulants secretary was also unavailable or anybody else who could throw further light on the situation, This was despite me producing a letter from the hospital giving the date and time of the procedure , and only seven days previous I had a letter reminding me of the appointment ! on asking why nobody had taken the trouble to call or email me about this they simply said they didnt know, all I got was blank faces at the reception desk ,so I had to make the hour long journey home only with only a promise somebody would be in touch tomorrow to sort things out. Obviously nobody rang , so I rang up the hospital myself and after endless recorded messages and a endless wait I got to speak to somebody who then after another wait said there was no body available to talk to me at present and somebody would be in touch..again nobody has ever rung.. I know find myself that 6 months down the line I am no wiser about my condition and the hospital doesn't even know why the consultant doesnt attend or his secretary even call people ..I have had to make an appointment at my GP and start the ball rolling again as I cannot see this place helping me out at all, Just as an aside nobody has contacted me yet about any of this.. it seems to be a rudderless ship , in retrospect I am probably safer looking elsewhere for my medical needs..

I had knee replacement surgery over the weekend upon arrival I was made to feel comfortable, my operation went well from the surgeons to the recovery team. I was then placed in my own room and the nurses looked after me and was always friendly, a special thanks to them all including the physio and wonderful catering staff. Thank you so much all of you for making my experience a good one, I can thoroughly recommend this hospital and staff. Kind regards Kevin.

Rated 5 stars out of 5
by David Burton - Posted on 23 March 2024
From the moment i arrived at reception to book in for my Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy i received fantastic personal attention from my surgeon and all the various nursing staff. Post operation i was well looked after for my 24 hour stay and was given round the clock attention including meds and blood pressure measurements. I can highly recommend Woodthorpe Hospital Nottingham for their professionalism and patient care.

by Deb Tyler - Posted on 24 February 2024
I had a total knee replacement on 21/2/24. Staff were wonderful and I was very well cared for in Ward 1, Room 12. This was my second operation at Woodthorpe under the NHS, and I would highly recommend it. First class treatment, thank you.

Review titled Perfect treatment
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by wdhartley66@gmail.com - Posted on 04 January 2024
My visit was comfortable, the staff were absolutely 100% plus. Preoperative. was easy and straightforward, after op straight back to my room where the staff were very helpful and attentive, they were on hand at all times, the food was very good, nothing was too much for them. On day of release the physio. introduced me to crutches showing perfectly how to use them,on release the staff had all documents ready and return date. I would thoroughly recommend this hospital, truly 1 of the best I have attended.

Review titled Be prepared for a wait if you're an NHS patient
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Sara Davis - Posted on 10 October 2023
Had my 'Breath Test' back in mid August and it was confirmed on site that I had a problem, 6 weeks later I was still waiting for the Call from them to confirm, Still 2 weeks further on & still have not received the Prescription for treatment that was prescribed... this is not the first time I've had to wait for diagnosis from here.. Because I've been referred from the nhs they push you to the back of the queue and expect you to wait.. When you try to call you are meant to jump through hoops to try & speak to someone.. Meanwhile you're still in pain waiting... & Waiting.. & Waiting.. no doubt it will be another month before they actually think about issuing the prescription for the problem I've had for 2 years.. Shocking Service..
