Review titled Fantastic staff - professional, caring, experts
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Tom W - Posted on 07 November 2023
Minor Injuries Unit: Despite the relatively short wait (to be expected, even with booking via a 111 call), the staff were all very friendly and professional once I was seen, quickly diagnosing the problem (fractured right clavicle) via examination and on-site x-ray. Thank you!

Review titled Very professional and sympathetic treatment Oct 2023
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Paul Stonham - Posted on 08 October 2023
I was quickly introduced to the Witney Minor Injuries Unit by 111 telephone service for a very painful diabetic foot ulcer. The doctor was extremely professional ( and kindly) and the nurse subsequently similar. It was the first step in saving my foot, and I am immensely grateful. How lucky we are to have such a facility!

Review titled EMU team are wonderful
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Following a GP appointment I was directed to the EMU instead of having to drive all the way to the JR’s AAU. The Witney EMU were excellent even though there was no doctor for the first two days due to COVID. I was very well looked after by the team of nurses, including one on her first day after qualifying, and a student nurse who was really good at putting me at ease in what was a bit of a stressful situation. Thank you!

Review titled Marvellous service
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Dropped into this hospital after 10 hours waiting for no return call from 111. Seen within 20 minutes by super Doctor who diagnosed shingles, supplied medication and sent on my way. Exceptionally efficient, so a big thank you to all the staff on duty Sunday evening 16th April!

Review titled Rude nurse and front desk staff minor injuries
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 16 January 2023
I have a bad finger trauma that was getting worse, I have an autoimmune disease and I take medicine for it which means I am not able to fight these things off as easily as a normal person can, I was told by my gp to seek help if this had got any worse, it had gotten alot worse. I went to the front desk at minor injuries and was practically told no by a woman on front desk before I'd even described my problem, also made it clear I was interrupting her personal conversation and the nurse working also made me feel like a fool, when explaining how this was serious due to my condition and simply looked at me in disgust saying "you should have gone to your gp" and claiming its "just an infection" as if I hadn't previously done this. I then had to go to my GP and beg for help where they confirmed this was bad finger trauma. So I'd like to thank the woman on reception at minor injuries today at around 12.45pm for making me feel like a total inconvenience by being a person with a serious autoimmune disease and a clear finger trauma, even raising her voice so others could hear. Absolutely disgusting service. And after all that, my doctors who luckily were able to see me quickly by asking a doctor to come up to the desk, confirmed it was a trauma to my finger that had definitely gotten worse. I'd recommend Witney hospital seriously looking into their staff as serious things could be missed due to this lack of care on front desk and nurses like the flippant nurse who saw me for a millisecond at front desk too with her misdiagnosis.
