  1. Review titled Administration nightmares

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Snowy - Posted on 08 August 2024

My partner had a high PSA and was referred to Whipps Cross for tests on his prostate. He had an MMR and biopsy both done at Whipps cross Hospital. He went to an appointment where the doctor informed him that the computer system was not working and therefore could not access the biopsy report. She would have a meeting where another appointment would be made to see a specialist doctor. We got the letter for the 20 August 2024. A bit confusing as we did have another appointment for the 13th August 2024. We phoned up the appointments team and they said that 13 August 2024 and the 20 August 2024 was just a telephone interview, not face to face. This did not say this on the letters. It’s a total nightmare. If anything happens to my partner I will sue the NHS. Very angry and might have to go private.

  2. Review titled Switcboard

Rated 3 stars out of 5

After continued ringing throughout the day after waiting for what seems forever it cuts out. When I do finally get answered, all I can hear in the background is people laughing, surely there must be systems in place to ensure work is carried out?

  3. Review titled antenatal clinic receptionist

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Toyah - Posted on 01 August 2024

1/8/24 10:40am- Absolutely useless receptionist who needs training or told to leave. Inability to communicate with her fellow colleagues and no help to patients. Creates unnecessary drama so she can play the victim. I came for a blood test and was first in the queue. She told me to wait to be called. After 20 minutes (I was #41) the ticket display went up to 42. I told her I was still waiting and even though I was 41 and no one had called for me. She showed little care and told me the number system was nothing to do with her. I waited another 20 minutes, so 40 mins in total when then the ticket display showed 43. At this point I was very frustrated and asked her if there was anyone doing blood-tests, why was the ticket queue moving but no evidence of people being called for their test? She decided to play the victim, even though I expressed I wasn't blaming her, she just wasn't doing anything about it and just expected me to sit like a idiot waiting for no one to come. Finally a nurse came for ticket 43 and I went in. Of course I was upset and I don't blame the nurse, who was very nice, except the useless system you have in place and the unhelpful receptionist lacking communication and teamwork skills. The nurse explained I was supposed to come straight to her and not wait and said the receptionist knew that.

  4. Review titled Children’s A&E

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 August 2024

I attended A&E with my young daughter around 4am last week. There was a lot of ‘activity’ in the waiting room with police present, and as it was our first time at A&E in this country it was a little frightening. The staff were all prompt and caring and had us registered as quickly as possibly and off to the Children’s A&E which was locked away separately and not as busy. The staff were all efficient and effective and the only complaint is there were no blankets or pillows which is a very sad state of affairs for young children in beds in the middle of night. I hope we can do something to get blankets for the kids here, but the staff all did their best.

  6. Review titled Amazing care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Amanda Irdem - Posted on 05 August 2024

I would just like to thank all the team from trauma, to orthopedic surgeons to nurses. I was looked after by the most amazing people after my wrist Injury. All at cedar ward were exceptional. And all made my post accident experience a pleasant one. They went above and beyond with my care and I am eternity grateful that we have such an amazing NHS.

  8. Review titled Nurses and doctors

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Upset - Posted on 31 August 2024

The nurses on Elizabeth ward were brilliant they do a great job and are very caring Two lady cardiologists were also very attentive and listened but there was one consultant that dismissed my concerns and belittled my feelings. I am still feeling very unwell despite a scan and I am going home feeling unwell and really none the wiser. It’s our life in these specialists hands and surely they need to listen to our concerns 😢

  9. Review titled Terrible post natal care

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 31 July 2024

Midwifes kept us over 24 hours after we asked to leave with no explanation given. They barely checked on us and seemed confused/ disoriented when they did. We had to keep chasing to be discharged and keep explaining very simple things that were in our notes. The rooms are poorly maintained, they were unbearably hot. The toilets weren't cleaned for weeks according to their own charts on the walls, and had no soap. Some staff members were nice, we were unlucky with a rude and mostly absent midwife.

  10. Review titled Best possible care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Peter Wilson - Posted on 15 July 2024

I would like to extend a sincere, heartfelt “thank you” to the hospital. I attended A&E, on July 9, and went on to receive emergency surgery, and post-surgery recovery care. The hospital is also providing extended follow-up treatment. I’m confident in saying that throughout, I could not have received better care and attention from all the staff who looked after – and are continuing to look after – me. Thank you, thank you to you all, for your dedication, your compassion and your skill, and, as importantly, your good humour.
