  1. Review titled Fantastic staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Roger Martin - Posted on 14 July 2023

I recently spent 3 weeks in Bay 5 on Gayton Ward after falling and breaking my hip. I can't speak too highly of the care given by all staff - surgeon, doctors, physios, nurses, cleaners and kitchen assistants. They must often have been short-staffed but never complained or short-changed the patients. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone without fail was sympathetic, helpful and considerate. Two of the senior nurses in particular went about their work with an infectious good humour which inspired general goodwill and optimism. Last but surely not least, the catering was first-class and the food varied. ample, very well cooked and presented. Thank you very much, QEH and Gayton Ward. Roger Martin

  2. Review titled Great team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Scott - Posted on 27 April 2023

The staff team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital within the Endocrinology and Metabolic Medicine Department were very helpful, explained the procedure, the waiting time and how long to sit for, the staff team communicated really well with one another and supported one another, was offered tea/coffee/juice/water alongside with some biscuits. I really couldn't fault the department. Thank you!

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your recent experience in our Endocrinology and Metabolic Medicine department. It is great to hear that your whole experience was good from explanations, helpfulness and of course the very welcome offer of tea and biscuits. I will be sharing your feedback with colleagues in this team so that they are aware of how much all those little things they did made such a good experience for you. 3. Review titled Pregnancy Termination

    by foxtrotgd73 - Posted on 15 March 2023

After a horrific miscarriage at home last year I felt completely let down by health care professionals by lack of privacy and compassion. This year we were lucky enough to fall pregnant again. But I am on a high amount of medications and the doctors offered termination in case of foetal malformation or to take our chances. Paralysis from late term pregnancy wasn’t ruled out either and was a major concern for me and my husband. After a lengthy discussion we decided to terminate this pregnancy for my mental and physical well-being. It was heart breaking. Yet the care I received was second to none. My only regret is not coming to this hospital at our time of need during my miscarriage. Unfortunately it’s left us with the heart breaking decision to not try again.

Thank you very much for taking the time to tell us about your experiences of the care you have received at this hospital and during a previous time when you miscarried at home. I am very sad to read your story and to hear about the very difficult decisions you have had to make with your husband. I hope you have received referrals to organisations in the community who can support you longer term with the help that you need. If there is anything else you may need from us please do not hesitate to get in touch and I can refer you to our maternity team as they may have some additional suggestions. I will be sharing your feedback with the team in maternity so that they can be aware of how much the care they provided enabled you to make your heartbreaking decision and for it to be as good as it could have been. I wish you all the best with your future plans and recovery from your recent very sad and hard decisions.
