  1. Review titled Lovely staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I took a relative to A&E today. We were welcomed by lovely staff in the A&E department. All were nice at reception, triage, doctor and pharmacy. I cannot fault them. I assume that maps and sineage around the hospital will be put up when the construction work has finished. Thank you all.

  2. Review titled Fantastic Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Went to AE last night with my wife . Doctor and all staff were extremely sympathetic and efficient . Loads of tests carried out to get to the problem . Constant feedback on progress and what was been carried out. Yes the wait initially was long but there were extremely busy . My wife took worse whilst in the waiting area and was admitted to Resus area which was incredible . All new with the latest technology . Staff so attentive and professional . Can’t fault it . Superb NHS service . Thank you so much

  3. Review titled New A&E facility is disgraceful

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Andy - Posted on 19 September 2024

Always had positive experiences at Stepping Hill. Unfortunately had to attend A&E a few days ago, first time I have been since the old A&E unit was closed and the brand new one opened. First of all it was less than half the size of the old unit with very limited seating. It was fairly busy but no more than I have experienced previously. However, due to the lack of seating and very very small space every seat was taken. This meant people were sat on the floor leaning against walls and with there being no wall space left to lean on patients were actually sat in the middle of the waiting room floor cross legged! There was such little room the queue for the desk was merging in with the rest of the patients who had already been seen and it was absolute chaos. Patiens were left waiting in hallways and corridors as well and to top it all off there was a lack of any sort of air conditioning and it was more than uncomfortably hot, it was unbearable! Despite needing medical attention i made the decision to leave the unit and see a GP in the morning instead as waiting in that space was causing me extreme distress and discomfort. I just wonder what on earth possessed the hospital to drastically decrease the size of a busy A&E unit and have it designed so poorly. If I ever have an accident again I will crawl nearer to any other hospital If I have to just so I dont have to go back here! Real shame as the other services at the hospital are brilliant.

  4. Review titled Nothing but praise

Rated 5 stars out of 5

We attend A&E yesterday with my 10 year old son who had injured his elbow. The staff and nurses were amazing from start to finish and we were in and out within an hour and a half. I have nothing but praise for these people who often work in such a pressurised environment . I know people are more likely to complain and not as likely to commend when something was good!

On hold for 1 hour after being told I was 4th in the queue. I have waited since April for an appointment to be started on blood thinners. I haven’t received any contact by phone email or letter.

  6. Review titled Staff were great.

I visited the gastroenterology department outpatients 15/08/2024 with my dad. The staff were really helpful. The department was running a little late but we were spoken to to explain this. The department felt very organised and the staff worked well as a team. They were very welcoming. A very pleasant experience.

  8. Review titled Worst hospital in the eorld

Rated 1 star out of 5

Unfortunately! I have warn people about this extremely dangerous hospital. I was involved in an accident and i was knocked unconscious, i arrived at Stepping hill hospital and the waiting room was full Now! Under no circumstances did i wish to jump the queue in front of seriously ill people I did expect that the hospital would at least see i had been seen by triage in the first two hours. A head injury and Stepping hill hospital think it makes sense to wait 2 hours Whats worse is when i approached the desk i was told 10/12 people in front of me I Left! Now! I decided to go to Macclesfield hospital as i had been in pain all night This is what happened !within 20 minutes i had been to reception examination by triage blood taken The doctor saw me and was caring and extremely knowledgeable I was free to leave in under three hours I had concussion supplied with pain killers and information Stepping hill is a lost cause A hospital that does not care !

  9. Review titled Amazing nurses made me feel safe

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Chloe - Posted on 02 August 2024

I recently came in for a colonoscopy which I was quite nervous about and having a stutter only makes everything a little bit more stressful, but I honestly cannot thank everybody enough for their patience and genuine care I felt whilst I was there. Particularly during the procedure itself I experienced a fair level of discomfort and pain however the nurses in the room made me feel so safe and cared for throughout. Everyone I encountered from the receptionists to the last nurse I spoke with who looked after me after the procedure, honestly thank you all so much.

  10. Review titled Great all round care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My daughter came to the hospital to have her baby. From the start she told me the staff were lovely. I was allowed to be with her when she went to the Labour ward with the pool. The midwives and students were so kind and helpful. My daughter unfortunately had to go to theatre. The Consultant was so kind and reassuring as we're all the staff. The Anaethatist was very thorough explaining what would happen. My daughter was reassured as she went to theatre. I cannot praise all the staff enough - and my daughter's baby was delivered safe and sound, all such a credit to Stepping Hill Hospital. Thank you to all who were involved.
