Review titled Quality Teams
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by peter Arthur rushforth - Posted on 05 February 2024
I was admitted to ward 81 in the Bexley Wing with a then unknown bacterial infection, on admittance lots of tests were done, the problems identified and a treatment plan put in place over the next 4 days and successfully treated. The stand out moments for me was the absolute skill and dedication shown by all the staff allocated to my care including the not so pleasant accidents when i was bed bound with antibacterial drips.

Treated on the Lincoln ward for an operation. The staff are a credit to their profession. 10/10. Nothing was too much trouble. The place was clean and welcoming.

Review titled Not seen by a doctor.
Rated 1 star out of 5
by J Wood - Posted on 27 December 2023
Attended with racing pulse, good first 30 minutes with bloods and ECG. Understandably i knew i was in for a significant wait, what i didn't know is that after 12 hours the nurse came out to say everyone will need to wait a minimum 10 more hours. Really disappointed.

Review titled Same day emergency care & treatment centre
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Attended here twice in the last 2 weeks. Staff run off their feet but were very caring & knowledgeable. A very busy Unit with long waits, staff struggling to cope with the huge demand, but at least the Unit prevented admission which I understand is one of aims.

Review titled Complete shambles.
Rated 1 star out of 5

Finally found a bed at after midnight after a two hour, planned operation in the morning. Rude staff, refused food or drink, then discharged the following morning without any form of examination. To add insult to injury then phoned by the Trust to say I should have had bloods taken before I was discharged and that they expected me to travel over 90 minutes to have them taken. I am still waiting for a post-operative appointment - three months on from the removal of a major organ. I don't expect I will get any reply from the Trust judging by the other posts here, but do think carefully before choosing St James's.

Review titled Do not donate a kidney here.
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Tom - Posted on 30 November 2023
I've had allot of negative back and forth with the renal unit at throughout donating a kidney and in the after care. The process was mayhem, but the latest experience tops it off just with the level of rudeness from a transplant co-ordinator. On my annual check up, I raised concerns of having my kidney level drop only 18 months post surgery. Especially since the renal consultant had advised that my kidney would grow in size and "work harder" to compensate. After detailing this a relaying my concern to the transplant co-ordinator I was told "you do realise you only have one kidney"./ Nooooo, really. I didn't realise thats what you did.... come on have some respect for you donors!

Review titled Excellent professional service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Diane Buckle - Posted on 11 September 2023
I had a hysteroscopy today as an outpatient. The service was first class . The area clean and relaxing . The consultant and nurses couldn’t of been more professional and reassuring. I was anxious but they made the experience so reassuring. Thank you to the staff for listening to my concerns and history with patience and kindness . I found the procedure almost painless.

Review titled Poor follow up
by Laura - Posted on 01 April 2024
After seeing my consultant in August he advised further surgery would be done by October/ November 2023. 8 months later still no surgery date, no help from admissions or his secretary, constantly fobbed off. For the last 2 years I haven’t been able to plan any annual leave/holidays or anything to look forward to which has made a massive impact on my mental wellbeing. I keep getting messages asking if I’m willing to see someone else or travel to a different hospital, to which I responded yes and still zero help
