I attended A & E as I had been referred by 111 to see a GP in the urgent care centre, however there was no GP on call so I had to wait and be seen by A and E, I found everyone to be really helpful. Although there was a lengthy wait when I was seen the nurses and doctors were amazing, I was given IV antibiotics and follow up appointment given for the following day at the Ambulatory Care Department for follow up IV antibiotics due to a re-occurring infection which my GP does not seem to be doing anything about. I was given scans and the Nurse Practitioner was writing to my GP to advise of the further care needed. Absolutely outstanding care and service provided throughout.

Children's urgent care is vital to South tyneside. The are fantastic with kids, 5* service, very quick and always reassuring parents

Waiting times weren't long, all staff great, happy with care provided. Hospital very clean and tidy

i have been on a number of occasions over the past few months adults and children's and i can honestly say the care received on both parts has been outstanding i have also attended other emergency cares within the region and will always choose southtyneside

Advised by 111 to go down, I was triaged, seen and on my way home within 45 minutes. Friendly and helpful staff too

Staff are always helpful and very reassuring. They keep you at ease and answer any questions you have no matter how stupid they may seem. Brilliant services every time!

My son at 6 weeks old was very poorly and needed urgent care, if it was for south tyneside hospital being as close ass it is I would of been worried of taking him to Sunderland hospital, we were seen quick and officiant got him diagnosed and then an ambulance to Sunderland where we spent 2 nights, but if it wasn't for the doctors and nurses at South tyneside I don't no what I would of done so I am forever thankful to them all and it needs to remain open for the the rest like mothers that can't get to Sunderland hospital unless they drive

Nurses and doctors are amazing in childrens A&E couldnt imagine not having this centre, if this centre was to move or shut down i would not be able to get my children seen as i dont have any transport to any other hospital

Referred from my GP’s to attend the hospital to rule out that there wasn’t anything sinister happening to me. From the reception staff to nurses and doctors in A&E to the staff in X-ray and Pharmacy everyone was exceptional and efficient. I was diagnosed and treated within an hour and a half which is incredible. Thank you
