Review titled Really lovely experience!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Kate Webb - Posted on 24 October 2024
I visited the colposcopy clinic today and the 3 nurses who attended to me were really lovely. I was very nervous about the appointment and they left me completely at ease. They were incredibly friendly and efficient and a real credit to the hospital! Thank you to you all, I do hope this review is passed back to you.

Review titled Community cardiology team ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Grateful family - Posted on 05 July 2024
Following a heart attack & 4 cardiac stents earlier this year my husband was referred to the community team for follow up care and rehab. He was initially very anxious due to his newly diagnosed cardiac disease, but this team are brilliant at rehabilitating and rebuilding their patients confidence levels. The staff are incredibly friendly, sympathetic and extremely knowledgeable and found a way to make my husband feel like himself again. He was enrolled on twelve rehab sessions, which were held twice weekly in Stanley, and the trainer and nurses were incredible every session and made the whole process enjoyable. What a great team, Thank You.

Review titled Polite staff
Rated 4 stars out of 5

Impressed with consultation and was taken in on time. Very quiet and relaxing department. My only issue was the cleanliness of the toilets. They were out dated and felt unclean. Rest of the hospital was airy and light

Review titled Poor Hygiene standards in main area of Hospital
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 12 June 2024
Visited the unit on the 11th June with my Daughter. The public toilet was extremely dirty with soiled toilet seat, also there was no soap in the dispenser to wash hands. We visited 4 separate hand gel units around the hospital with no product in any of them. The main reception staff when I asked for a patient feedback form told me they did not have any and just to go online. On a very positive note the Colposcopy unit provided excellent care with a professional and friendly relaxed manner. As NHS staff I feel this needs to be highlighted as a matter of urgency in line with infection control issues.

Review titled Great out of hours care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by HML - Posted on 15 March 2024
Phoned NHS111 on a Saturday morning as we had come away for the weekend but had forgotten one of my son's epilepsy meds. Doctor from Shotley Bridge Out of Hours services called us back within half an hour. They managed to find a supply of the medicine and issued us with a prescription which we collected from Shotley Bridge and took to Durham hospital. Got the meds by 11am. Very relieved and very grateful to the doctor for finding somewhere with a supply (it's a new drug so high street pharmacies don't stock it). They were sympathetic and didn't make me feel stupid for having forgotten to pack the medicine. Thanks for all your help.

Review titled Lovely staff, good experience
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Lucy - Posted on 27 April 2023
After a horrendous experience at UHND (for a different issue) last week which is resulting in a serious complaint, I feel I have to feed back about a positive and excellent experience today at Shotley bridge hospital. I was here today for a pelvic scan (and also physio in a separate appointment which was also helpful). The staff were friendly, lovely, kind, professional, reassuring and explained the scan and that all was ok - a totally different experience to last week. I actually felt cared about today and what a huge difference this makes to me. Thankyou to the two staff who I’ve seen today for my scan (and also the physio), please send my thanks to them.

Review titled Excellent care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sheila - Posted on 31 January 2023
Many thanks for the excellent care and service I received at Shotley Bridge when I broke my wrist. From the appointment being made by 111, followed immediately by a call from Urgent Care to attend sooner, so that I would I would be able to have an Xray at Shotley before that department closed, the care could not have been better. I avoided A&E at Durham on a Friday evening and had excellent kind care from all staff with no waiting. Thanks also for the great service and care at the Plaster Room at Durham the following morning. I feel fortunate to have such service.
