I attended MIU today for the first time. The receptionist and nurses were lovely. I was seen extremely quickly and was very satisfied with the service. I have every confidence in their assessment, treatment, and quality of care and would certainly recommend this department to anyone in need of this service. Thank you.

Review titled Great Minor Injuries
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Margaret Pearson - Posted on 08 July 2024
Today I went to minor injuries regarding swollen leg and hand from fall out of a car. From receptionist taking my information in a kind and understanding way and respected privacy from other patients. The lady nurse was very sympathetic, put my mind to rest as I was worried about my swollen leg that it could be a clot and she reassured me it was not. Bathed my hand and dressed my wounds with such a caring manner that I felt safe and when I left was not with the heavy heart that I came in with. Please let the staff and nurses know that I have no hesitation in anybody with problems to come to this lovely department. Thank you all Margaret Pearson xx

Review titled Minor Injuries
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Emma - Posted on 12 April 2024
I attended minor injuries on Wednesday 10th April 2024 around 9am. The reason for my visit was because my 20 month old son had a swollen and red big toe caused by an ingrown toe nail I couldn't get in gp and wanted it checking incase of infection. The nurse we saw was very aprupt and did not seem to want to listen to my concerns I explained the symptoms to which she advised we need an xray and would need to go to a&e. I explained he hadnt hurt his toe so xray wasn't needed, it was the nail she would not listen and said I needed to tell her which a&e I was taking him to as she has to l check I actually take Him. Very long short after 3 hours in a&e the nurse we saw immediately said his toe is definitely not broken and they would not be doing an xray. Which is why Is exactly what I had said in the first place. This could of been easily assessed in minor injuries and dealt with instead what occurred was a waste of nhs time and resources along with distress to my toddler having to spend a day at hospital for no reason. I hope this feedback is passed to the relevant nurse so hopefully in future she can be more attentive to actually listen and take the time to observe so this doesn't happen again to someone else

Review titled Amazing service!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Charlotte Green - Posted on 13 April 2024
I am sorry but I cannot remember the name of the woman we saw yesterday but it was in tbe eye clinic at 3:30 with my 6 year old daughter. This woman was absolutely amazing! She engaged so well with my daughter and her twin sister. My daughter gets very anxious about these appointments and she put her at ease right away. We had the most successful appointment we have ever had. She was also amazing at explaining all of the options to me in a way I could understand. She is a credit to the NHS and I just wanted to express my appreciation for her yesterday.

I visited the Minor Injuries on Thursday 14th March. After a short wait, I was made to feel welcome by a nurse who went the extra mile to put me at ease and relaxed. She dealt effectively with my injury, and to my suprise, she arranged an appointment with a Doctor that afternoon. No one could have asked for more, I am a very fortunate guy, thank you.

went to above on Monday 26th as had accident on my left leg which was an open wound. The staff and nurses treated me with great patience and caring nature. Cleaned wound and put butterfly stitches to bring skin together. Had to go back Wednesday and nurse was very thorough and took my blood pressure and because it was red and warm put me on antibiotics. I have no hesitation in going back Saturday to have it checked and redressed. Thanks to all who work in Minors Injuries.

Having had xray ordered by physio department, now I've waited almost 3 weeks for results from downstairs xray department to travel upstairs to physio department. I'm in pain and need my results. Still waiting

Review titled Efficient, professional and friendly service on a Sunday.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Carly - Posted on 11 June 2023
I attended the urgent care centre with an eye problem that had worsened over the weekend. The receptionist was welcoming and informative. A remarkably short wait considering it was a Sunday and then a very efficient and professional Sister saw me. Her examination was very thorough and she was reassuring in her advice. I was given a prescription to help and information on what to do next if that did not work. I was so impressed: I rarely need to use a weekend service and was expecting a long wait in a crowded waiting room but I was in and out in under an hour. Thanks to all the busy staff who made it such a smooth experience.

Seen by Sister for problems with toe nail: very helpful and now much more comfortable. Sister was polite, and explained what she intended doing all the way through the treatment. Would definitely recommend this service.
