  1. Review titled Great service in RuH’s Accident and Emergency Unit

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Gerry W - Posted on 19 July 2024

My wife suffered a significant injury to her leg on 28th June last, while we were holidaying from Ireland in the Bath area. We then attended RuH’s A and E. The courteous, professional and efficient service we received from all the staff whom we met there, was admirable and impressive. Within 2 hours of entering the hospital my wife was given a wheelchair, registered, assessed by a nurse, sent for an x ray, had x rays taken, was seen by not one, but two, doctors, and, before discharge, was given crutches and advice on follow up. The service was even more admirable as a strike by junior doctors that day seriously impacted staffing levels in the hospital.

Just a quick review and comments to say how outstanding and amazing all the staff in the birthing centre at the ruh were. We had a very long and complicated labour. the midwife’s look after my other half outstandingly she was in labour for 27hrs and that whole time they were there for her. One midwife stood out hands above all others. Unfortunately we cannot name but hopefully they read this you are a star and we couldn’t have done it without you. She supported me and my other half the whole way through Thank you for everything Ben

  3. Review titled exceptional care and kindness.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jayne Seymour - Posted on 13 June 2024

My dad has melanoma and his cancer nurse is just wonderful. We can call her anytime with questions and she either answers them on the spot or finds out and comes back to us. It is so reassuring to know we have this extra support. She has helped me several times when I have been worried about dad. I never feel she is trying to rush me off the phone when I have called. Unfortunately I was unable to leave your name. Thanks ka you're the best.

  4. Review titled So professional and caring

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Sue - Posted on 23 May 2024

Yesterday I had to visit your Gynaecology outpatients department feeling nervous and to be honest terrified I was greated with a smile and very lovely lady. I was told to sit down and explain why I need to be in your hospital as it was my doctor who sent me. Just wanted to say how kind and caring your team was and as I cannot mention any names and to be honest everything was a blur and I never remembered. So I wanted to say if any patient is worried about going for treatment they will be cared for like I was yesterday. Thank you once again for your caring, kindness and professionalism in the job that you do to help us all. I could not of had any better treatment anywhere else. Thank you Gynaecology team

  5. Review titled Canadian Travellers in need of care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Desmond Brady - Posted on 24 May 2024

We were treated respectfully and very timely .My wife had fallen and dislocated her shoulder and suffered a very bad ankle sprain. The staff were extremely efficient from beginning to end. This was the reception, triage, X-ray technician, the various nursing staff members. We were very pleased ,everything we asked was treated with great care. My wife’s pain was resolved and we are home and she is seeing a physio therapist which had been recommended by the hospital in Bath. Thank you to everyone involved with caring for my wife.

The nurses who saw me today in urgent care were absolutely lovely. Thank you for being so kind to me. I am no allowed to name you but hopefully you will read this and told that you made my day. Thank you for being there and looking after so many people day in day out. Also the lady who booked me in at reception was also so kind and reassuring. 8. Review titled Expertise & Excellent Caring

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Christine - Posted on 08 April 2024

As a large family visiting our very poorly Mum in the acute stroke ward, we experienced extraordinary kindness from all the staff towards her. During an infection she was looked after with respect and dignity and we are all eternally grateful to all the staff on duty in the ward. The end of life palliative care ensured she was comfortable. The visiting flexibility the family were given enabled at least one of us to be with her at all times until the end. Thank you so much to all the brilliant, kind, caring staff, including the compassion of the admin team and discharge sister in acute stroke ward. Thank you

  10. Review titled Very poor service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Laura - Posted on 16 May 2024

On Saturday, at approximately 19:00 hours, I attended the accident and emergency department due to unexpected bleeding at 12 weeks of pregnancy. Regrettably, I was compelled to depart at approximately 02:00 hours without receiving medical attention due to extreme fatigue and the presence of my 2-year-old daughter. At approximately midnight, a senior nurse made an announcement regarding an extended waiting time of approximately 6 hours, citing a shortage of staff. Seeking clarification on whether this extended wait time applied to my case, as I had been waiting since 19:00 hours, I approached the nurse. He expressed uncertainty but suggested that there was a possibility of being seen soon considering the duration of my wait. Based on this assurance, I patiently waited for an additional 2 hours, beyond which I found it untenable to remain any longer. Consequently, I returned to the accident and emergency department the following day (Sunday) at approximately 13:00 hours. I was required to undergo the triage process once again due to persistent bleeding and intensified pain. Regrettably, I did not receive medical attention until 19:00 hours, at which point I was provided with a leaflet to schedule an appointment with the gynecology department. It is my understanding that the medical team on duty the Saturday I arrived was aware of my presence and the reason for my visit. Given the circumstances, it would have been appropriate for them to provide me with the necessary information or arrange for someone to do so, rather than requiring me to make two arduous round trips, enduring excruciating pain, only to receive a leaflet for booking an appointment. I find this level of service to be unacceptable and in need of improvement.
