  1. Review titled Fantastic pidiatric team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Georgina - Posted on 28 August 2024

Would really like to thank the royal free hospital for sincerely looking after my son's finger. We had appointments once a week for a month ,my son had part of his finger amputated,we're a door had slammed and took the top of it off . The team made sure my son was really looked after and did regular check ups on him to make sure the finger had fully recovered. Thank you for your care and professionalism.

  2. Review titled Worst blood test

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 August 2024

I had my life’s worst blood test done there last week and got a 10cm bruise that after a week is still painful. I don’t usually bruise and I know a bit of it can happen. But this time, the person did a terrible job, she seemed to be in a bad mood, did it really harsh as if she was drilling a hole in concrete. She was very unfriendly and unapproachable too. On a + note, staff at blood test reception, particularly the guy that checks patients in, were super helpful and friendly.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review about your recent blood test. We're sorry to read that you have been left with a large bruise that was still painful after a week. We'll share your feedback with the phlebotomy management team, however with the limited information we have, they may not be able to identify the phlebotomist who performed your blood test. If you would like to share any further details with us, you can email us at rf-tr.patientexperience@nhs.net. We'll ensure that they share your positive comments with the staff at their reception. 3. Review titled Fabulous pre op care and successful hip op

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Claire Coulson - Posted on 07 September 2024

My 92-year-old mum had an elective hip replacement op in July this year at Chase Farm Hospital. The preparation for the op enabled us to discuss all the options and pros and cons, considering her age: the surgeon was careful to look at the outcomes for an elderly patient using the scans/xrays; the anaesthetist was extremely helpful and guided us re GA vs spinal block; the Joint School session helped us to plan the aftercare needed; The week before the op, there were numerous phone calls to check that mum was well and ready for the op. The op went extremely well and mum is walking better after 4 weeks than she did beforehand and her pain has decreased significantly. The thing that impressed me most was the proactive way the professionals dealt with mum by phoning her to discuss things and checking she was alright with all the plans. I really appreciated this. Thank you to all those involved for taking the time in your busy schedules. This op has made such a difference to my mum's life.

  6. Review titled Awful experience

    by Don’t worry - Posted on 11 June 2024

Been waiting in a&e for 13 hours with a patient who is has difficulty breathing and is experiencing a lot of pain . 13 hours for a blood test ??? What kind of hospital is this I don’t understand a person can die until someone gives help . The patient is in a lot of pain crying from pain and they haven’t even gave any pain killers ?! I wouldn’t suggest anyone to go to this hospital if you’re experiencing very bad pains .!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 June 2024

I went to the drop in x-ray service and it couldn't have been more efficient. I was literally in the hospital for less than 5 minutes and one of the staff even took care of my baby whilst I had the x-ray. Couldn't have been easier. Thanks

  9. Review titled Extremely let down today, GP could not not care less!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Phoebe - Posted on 03 May 2024

I had an appointment today in Clinic 6 at apprx 13:30, which they cancelled without letting me know. I took today off as did my father, which cost us around £800 as the receptionist told me I absolutely had to be at this appointment today else it would be pushed by many many months. When we explained this to the reception, the doctor still refused to see me even though the mistake was made by this hospital. This appointment was important as I may have a serious condition concerning the left side of my brain, but clearly not that important to these NHS so called professionals. This doctor should be ashamed!

  10. Review titled A huge 'thank you' ...

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Kathy - Posted on 25 May 2024

My elderly mum came into A&E for an emergency MRI this week. The wait time in A&E (through no fault of the staff) was around eight hours, which meant that, towards midnight, she had to be admitted for the night. Having said this, we couldn't have asked for more from the lovely staff looking after the small side ward (AAU Bed 24) where mum was eventually accommodated. I watched, the next morning, as they managed some fairly challenging situations with expertise, patience, compassion and humour; and the duty doctor who attended was - despite being run off his feet - patient, clear and kind. We feel very fortunate that the Royal Free is one of our local hospitals - we've been involved with them on a number of occasions, and so appreciate the care and expertise they offer. Thank you, Royal Free - you are an absolute treasure!
