  1. Review titled Fantastic experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 October 2023

Attended for minor hand surgery 6/10/23 at the Pulver Taft Hand Day Case Ward. From the moment I arrived they were the most professional, caring, polite and simply wonderful staff, they put me at ease, explained everything and constantly checked on my well being . Such lovely caring people I cannot speak highly enough of them. Please will you pass this on, I'm sure they treat every patient in the same wonderful way but not all will take the time to tell you.

  2. Review titled Highest quality treatment

    by Vix99 - Posted on 03 November 2023

I attended for laproscopic surgery with one night stay towards the end of October 2023. From the first minute, the clinic was inviting, filled with reassuring, warm, and professional staff. I was looked after so much my anxiety melted away. I was prepared, able to see the surgeon and anaesthetic team, and my surgery was amazing! I had no cough, pain, or difficulties at all. This is my 5th operation, and I was anxious but felt so cared for, I was able to discuss everything and was told I would be well looked after by such an efficient team all my doubts were allayed. During the whole process, there was a constant 'cushion' of care and attentiveness, such that my experience has given me confidence and gratitude. The expertise and skill set is no doubt why I'm feeling my recovery is progressing so well. I'm healing brilliantly. I'm so grateful to every member of the fantastic staff at Derby Royal. Simply the Best. Thank you

  4. Review titled A&E Experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 October 2023

I took my son in law to the Derby Royal A&E last night at approximately 10.00pm. He thought he had some metal in his eye from work he is an electrical engineer. We were sent to the blue room and left waiting after around 2hrs waiting we were moved back to the arrivals waiting room and just left. We watched ambulances arrive and staff were treating people on or directly from ambulances which we assumed would be emergencies but they couldn’t all have been. We waiting for another 2-3 hrs and left he had to get up for work the following day. At 7.30 this morning j26:10/23 he received a call from the hospital wanting to know if he was still at the hospital which would have been 9+hrs. The whole experience was a complete joke and we just pray we never have to visit the place in a life or death situation. We have both paid everything into the system expecting some sort of help when needed bu no.

I have been trying to ring to get an ultrasound appointment for a week, after a Drs referral. Derby Royal ultrasound department Phone line is either never answered, or machine says it’s too busy and hangs up. How is this a service? How am I supposed to get treated if you fail at first hurdle?

  8. Review titled Such kindless

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had come out of the hospital exit with my elderly father in a wheelchair. It was near A/E but found myself a distance from the car park I needed. The wheelchair was heavy and difficult for me to steer. A porter from A/E stepped up and assisted me to get him safely to the car. This was an amazing help . Please pass on my thanks. He truly went above and beyond.

I was finally admitted at 1 am and spent 5 nights on ward 302 having angiogram revealed a heart event! 10. Review titled Awful

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 02 September 2023

Kept getting ignored. Left on an empty IV for hours at a time. No communication at any point. Came in to A and E, was initially told I'm getting antibiotics to go home with then quickly this changed to an overnight stay. At no point was I given any indication of how long I would be staying, turns out I was in for 2 weeks, I inly found this out 9 days into my stay. The food was awful to the point it was unsafe to eat. I was forgotten about sitting on an empty IV for hours at a time almost every day and if I pressed the help button often either no one would come for a good 30-45 minutes or someone would tell me they'll get a nurse and no one would turn up for an hour. I was stuck in a room with no windows for 2 weeks. The light doesn't turn off so I had to try and sleep in the light and when I did get to sleep I got woke up daily between 4am and 5am by staff slamming doors. When I asked why they we're slamming doors they initially said they weren't and then changed it to "it's the storage room, it has to stay locked" which didn't answer anything. Also at one point I was meant to go for an MRI but at the last minute I was informed they'd gone on strike so I never got one.
