  1. Review titled Triage services

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Andrew Derbyshire - Posted on 08 October 2022

Asked to attend and not eat and then waited ( and still here ) over 18 hours without food or water. The lack of information was very poor. Unacceptable levels of service.

  2. Review titled Great care but....

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by John Harris - Posted on 10 October 2022

When I visited my wife I was impressed with the care and consideration shown by the nursing staff but when I telephone to ask about her condition Nobody Answers The Phone even after hanging on for 15-20 minutes. Surely you can do better than that.

  4. Review titled Excellent Care but need more equipment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 December 2022

Some good nursing care but occasionally bizarre - e.g. being pulled back by my ankles as I tried to crawl into the lavatory after being left for almost 90 minutes with an agonisingly full bladder. I think the delay was due to difficulty in finding the scanning equipment. My alarm bell had disappeared somewhere within the bed. mechanism and I was in too much pain to shout for a nurse. The nurses were good but need more equipment

  5. Review titled Fab stafg

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Sue Chambers - Posted on 08 October 2022

Was on Ward 301 for a few days, cancer patient with diarrhoea , sickness and temperature. The staff were so lovely, kind, helpful and keen to see a happy patient as much as possible. Nursing staff were great and all the staff took time to talk and listen. I was unhappy to be there but happy to be looked after by the wonderful team. The only drawback, again, as this is my second hospital stay in weeks, is the awful food it is over cooked, sloppy or dry there is no nutrition.

  6. Review titled The sunflower ward

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Emily Downing - Posted on 15 September 2022

I took my son in to the Sunflower ward for an MRI scan and would just like to say thank you to all of the staff working there. They were so lovely and kind they all knew his name when walking past they’d say hello to him. Every member of staff I dealt with was really friendly. The layout of the ward was incredible unlike anything I’ve ever seen in the months I’ve been taking my son to the hospital. It proved to be effective because it made him feel so comfortable and relaxed when usually he is very upset when we’re in the hospital or doctors. Thank you so much to all the staff that were working that day who made a worrying mum and a toddler feel completely comfortable and at ease with what was ahead.

  7. Review titled So reassuring, from start to finish

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by J Doyle - Posted on 30 September 2022

I had to visit Ilkeston hospital for surgery on my wrist. Before the day, I looked at other reviews which was a big mistake! I wanted to put on my positive review to help other people who may be feeling worried... The whole team, from receptionist to surgeon couldn't have been more caring. They eased my nerves and kept me informed all along the way. They also took the time to keep my husband (who was waiting to take me home) informed. Top team! Thank you.

  8. Review titled Left feeling upset

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 September 2022

Came for hand surgery feeling quite anxious but was left without any reassurance or support from nursing staff. Initially nurse seemed to begrudgingly book me in but left after a short while to talk to patients opposite me,who had epidurals ,and didn't finish my booking in or return. ( I wasn't even asked what meds I was on etc). I was left with no support or idea of procedures etc. There were other nurses with patients in the ward making them feel comfortable and supported which was wonderful for those patients. After surgery, I did however get support from a different member of staff which was hopeful. This was a very upsetting and isolating experience and should and could have been different. The surgeon , however was very professional and kind during the procedure
