Attended burton AnE with gran daughter around 5.30 ish . I was totally amazed the shortness of time ...they had set up two clinics to process and see patients we were in there just over an hour . Granddaughter had consultation, x Ray then plaster all within an hour Got to say compared to last time I took my husband which was a Tuesday evening in June and five hour wait complete turn around ..100 per cent to staff can't thankyou enough Not sure if it's labour getting I'm but if this is a sign things are turning round I absolutely applaud ..

I’m extremely needle phobic and have had lots of bad experiences which make my phobia worse . This time the staff in the phlebotomy dept at Queens Hospital Burton were extremely kind and understood my phobia and I had the best experience yet as they go when having a blood test . Thankyou so much your doing an amazing job .

  3. Review titled Superb attitude and staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jim Beestone - Posted on 18 July 2024

Took my child to Queens, as 111 were concerned about meningitis. Went to A&E where we were seen very promptly and triaged appropriately, and then a bit of a wait (understandably) as we were no longer an emergency. However, when my daughter's temperature spiked again, she was treated immediately and taken up to the PAU, where she was really well looked after by extremely empathetic staff. In all, though a bit of a fright for us as parents, our daughter's experience was really positive, from the nurses pulling funny faces to make her laugh, through to the passing paramedic who lent her a pen so she could do her activity book in the waiting room, and the registrars and doctors who explained everything about her symptoms to her mum and I. A really friendly, kind set of staff who helped to turn what could have been a very scary experience for a toddler into a positive one.

  4. Review titled Waste of time

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Luke - Posted on 13 July 2024

Got refered by the walk in centre to go to a&e after getting a peice of metal in my eye, walk in centre told me that there was a peice of metal that had penertraded my eye, when I got to a&e after waiting for nearly 4 hours the doctor who delt with me told me that there wasn't anything in my eye and issued me some antibiotic eye cream then discharged me. In less than 24 hours I've had to return to the a&e because the peice of metal is still in my eye and it's now been 24 hours where I haven't been able to see anything out my eye

  5. Review titled This is not a place of care.

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 July 2024

I had to attend the Ultrasound Department for a scan because I have 3 lumps inside my chest that have been there for 7 months now. All the other patients like myself were early and were being treated early. The gentlemen next to me asked what time my appointment was and I said 14.30 he said his was 14.00. Like I said he went in early 13.50 and was finished by 14.00. I was waiting and waiting and was eventually call in at 14.40 (40minutes after the previous gentleman had left). I asked the nursing assistant why I had been left when everyone else had been seen early she said 'my appointment was for 14.30', I said but everyone had been seen early she ignored that. Everyone should have been seen early or no-one should have been seen early. There is a theory that the NHS is run by Doctors, Nurses and other members of staff for the benefit of Doctors, Nurses and other members of staff. Not for the benefit of patients. The attitude displayed to me emphasized that point. This institution should be downgraded from hospital i.e. a place of care to a holiday camp for staff.

  6. Review titled Rude staff

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Rebecca Strachan - Posted on 10 June 2024

I was sent to A&E Aby the GP. When I was in triage, the medical professional was rude and dismissive of my pain and concerns. Too busy saying I'm not an emergency and I shouldn't be there. I understand they're under pressure but I was sent there by a doctor.

  7. Review titled Second to none

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Pam smith - Posted on 04 July 2024

My daughter was bought to hospital by ambulance with breathing issues. She was quickly transferred to icu and put on a ventilator. The care she received was first class by very informative caring staff. Nothing was left to chance. After 7 days she was woken up and we were allowed to be there it was a long process but they were patient and kind with us all. She is now recovering on a ward and doing really well. I can’t thank the staff in icu enough for keeping her safe and for helping us to understand her needs for her wellbeing.

  8. Review titled Amazing practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ellie Slater - Posted on 03 June 2024

Every single staff member that we came across from the maternity and labour unit were incredibly positive, welcoming and reassuring. I was looked after by 2 lovely midwives & a student midwife, and their care was outstanding, leaving us feeling completely safe throughout my entire induction and labour. We had 1-1 care throughout my 20 hour labour, and the whole team went above and beyond. I couldn’t have asked for a better team of people to deliver my baby - thank you so much!!

  9. Review titled Out of order toilets.

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Fiona - Posted on 11 May 2024

There seemed to be a large number of toilets out of order within and around the accident and emergency department. Which given the large number of people there was unacceptable. 1. Male toilets by reception desk 2. Toilet outside a and e near entrance door 3. One toilet in miami ( which rather alarmingly the staff member I asked wasn't aware it was out of order ( leaving only one patient toilet available in whole of a and e

My partner and daughter were seen very quickly following an incident. Discharged my daughter and sought appropriate care for my partner. Pleased with how the staff supported them both!
