    Had treatment for breast cancer ,treated me really quickly doctor's and breast care team are fantastic amazing people cannot thank them enough x

    I went for a blood test today but due to my condition, I don't have very good veins and it is often very difficult to find one or get enough blood from one. I have often been poked with needles in my hands, wrists and arms dozens of times and this can make me feel faint and nauseous when it goes on too long! I told my phlebotomist this and she was so patient and understanding and made sure to find a vein before trying. I appreciated it so much and she was so considerate and made the experience very positive for me!

    I was referred on the Tuesday and seen on the Friday. A big thank you to the consultant and all staff in the urology department. The procedure lasted a lot longer than I expected, due to a persistent bleed in my bladder that I had for several days prior. The team persevered and eventually stopped it. I can’t thank them enough for how I was treated and kept informed throughout. I certainly wasn’t expecting to be seen and treated so quickly. Absolutely an amazing outstanding experience with the Queen Elizabeth. Thank you again.

    I phoned 111 and was given an appt with the gatdoc (absolutely amazing care and treatment) she referred to to a&e and waited for over an hour to be triaged- triage nurse took 3 phone calls whilst I was in the room including other patients personal details and conditions. Felt very dismissed whilst explaining why I was sent here from the gp (even with a letter explaining the prognosis she had made and what tests she believed needed doing). Blood work and scan done and waited a further 4 hours for results due to microbiology being down and bloods having to be sent to another hospital. Finally saw a doctor who didn’t seem like she had a care in the world was very rude and dismissive of symptoms, I was more than understanding of the pressure she was under especially as it was during the jr doctor strike days, but she was rude to me and my mum. She did a very small examination and belittled everything I explained to her and said that I was fine and exaggerating the pain and told me to stop taking pain meds (even though I had surgery a matter of days before at a different hospital- thankfully). After blood work came back she said I was fine and did not need any other medication. I went to see the gp a few days later as symptoms had not improved and was told to go to a&e I went to a different hospital and was found to have a major blockage in the urinary tract and had a major infection, the original gp wanted me to have a scan on my kidneys as she believed there was a blockage but was dismissed. Having worked in a different trust within the nhs the QE seemed quite adequately staffed even with the strikes and although the waiting times being significantly shorter then in my trust I would rather sit for the extra hours and get proper care and treatment then in the QE with the disrespect I was treated with- especially towards another health care professional.

    I attended the A&E department following a fall. I was in severe pain but when I was eventually seen I described my symptoms as best as I was able. The subsequent X ray showed no damage to the knee and I was sent home with an appointment for the fracture clinic which I duly attended. Neither of these clinics bothered to X ray my hip despite being made aware of a prosthetic joint and it emerged later that there was in fact a serious ring fracture around the prosthetic hip joint. I was subsequently admitted for urgent remedial surgery. I now have extensive metal bracing and scarring and am looking at a lengthy recovery period. I can't help but speculate about a very different outcome if the damage had been spotted on the first or the second visit. The upside is that once known, action was taken, and the treatment from that point on was good

    I was referred to the breast service via by GP and received an appointment within the two weeks. On arrival at my appointment the receptionist was friendly and advised me on what side of the waiting room to sit before I was called it. On being seen the staff where friendly, helpful and explained what was going to happen at each stage. The doctor checked me and as a precaution arranged an ultrasound and mammogram which were all done in the same appointment. Once all this was done a doctor explained the results of the tests and I went home knowing everything was ok and was discharged from the service.

    This is the first time I went to the urgent treatment centre at this hospital (walk-in). When I arrived at the front of the emergency department, I was not sure which door to go into. A staff noticed me and kindly asked me about my condition, quickly going into a room to get me a registration form and guiding me to the correct place. When I entered the centre, more staff were there to assist with the process of registration. I thought it would take hours to see a doctor but actually after I handed in the form, I waited for less than 15 minutes. The doctor was very friendly. He checked my conditions and gave me a prescription. I would recommend this practice to anyone who is not registered with a GP in Birmingham (registered elsewhere) but needs treatment of a sudden illness. It is easy to go to and has very friendly staff. More importantly, you do not need to wait for hours and hours before you get some form of care for your problem.

    I was very scared to have hysteroscopy but from receptionist to nurse and consultant was brilliant although very painful they was marvellous

    Where do I start no leadership staff not trained properly poor communication my mother is not getting any better told she is suffering from delirium on a normal ward she is unable to feed herself or drink staff keep saying she keeps refusing to eat. This maybe because she is not of right mind. Her meds on the last two occasions are left lying around and not locked in a safe place I have mentioned this and all I keep getting told is thanks for letting us know, they are not learning from their mistakes this is very poor practice and very dangerous. I feel my mother is not getting the right care and is on the wrong type of ward for the care that she requires she can not fend for herself and every time I see her she seems worse I’m at my wits end the nhs is well and truly broken
