    Was asked to reattend ward B4 after a visit prior to the weekend, and the Dr wanting to retest/review results. Attended at requested time. Left waiting for more than three hours. No water in the waiting room, no updates or communications and when requested the staff were rude and unhelpful. This needs resolving. No water in a ward waiting lounge for patients is unacceptable, it’s a basic! Being in a hospital is worrying enough without the staff being rude and unhelpful. Need to introduce some sort of update system or something. Being left waiting with no updates is very anxiety inducing. Especially since this is a gynaecology and early pregnancy ward.

    Apologies as I sent review to the ambulance service assuming would be the same for the hospital staff... My family and I wish to communicate to the hospital that all of the staff who cared for my Nan, 20th Sept 24 - 25th Sept 24. From the accident and emergency department right through to the ward she was admitted to. All the care that was given was above and beyond from all staff!! So patient, compassionate, respectful and person centred- right up until when my Nan passed away. My family and I cannot say thanks enough for the care and support given throughout this awful time. You are all amazing and please pass this onto all of the staff involved. They must be recognised for their hard work and fulfilling their duty as care workers to the highest quality!!! Keep up the great work!!!

    Went there today with my elderly mother . She had a call to attend bit received no letter . Upon arrival the receptionist asked my mother of 82 years old why she was there . When my mother explained that she was told the receptionist words to her was ( you people make me laugh if you were told to go to b and q and have your head chopped off you would ) .the rudest receptionist ever disgusting behaviour. She should be sacked .

    I was taken to the queen Alexandra emergency dept on the afternoon of 12th september after a fall in Fareham high street, an xray showed a fractured left patella, late on that evening i was admitted to ward d8, my whole experience of being of being in the hospital from start to my leaving on tuesday 17th september was something that i will remember for a long time, the nursing staff/orthopaedic doctors/physio staff were the most caring, kind, thoughtful people i could have wished to meet. As my blood pressure kept going down into my boots I was carefully monitored I was from Bristol on holiday in Hayling island, my family had to come to support my husband, who is 75 yrs old and not in the best of health, our whole experience was exemplary. 100 percent to Queen Alexandra hospital staff from cleaners upwards. well done from a very grateful family.

    QA hospital in Portsmouth. My mum was in an elderly patient ward F3 twice in September and October. The nurses and doctors were amazing. They took care of her pain and anxiety in the last days of her life. They were brilliant with our family and always kept myself and my 2 sisters informed of her treatment. Sadly she died on October 16th but she was able to do so with dignity with us by her side. They made a sad situation as bearable as possible for us.

    Ward F3 for elderly patients looked after my mum,on 2 occasions in September and October 2024. The nurses and Doctors were amazing, showing care and patience ensuring her last days were as pain and stress free as possible. They did not hesitate to address any concerns we as a family had and they always tried to improve her well being immediately. We always felt welcome on the ward and watched this high standard of care with other patients. Although this a very sad time for us, they made it as bearable as possible. Thank you all, from 3 daughters of a much loved Mum.

    I found out that I had had 2 cardiac arrests during my 15 hr operation, I was not told this at the time 9thMay 2022. I found out from my GP sending a letter to Eye Department This year. I have since been trying to find out what happened. I have asked ent And emailed phu and pal but I have had no response. I am profoundly deaf so cannot use a phone.

    My wife had AF with a heart rate going from 140 to 163. We called 111 who arranged for a clinician to call us back. The clinician called back and arranged for us to be seen at QA emergency dept. My wife’s details had been sent to the hospital and she was quick seen by a nurse who confirmed her symptom. Whilst the waiting room was packed, with people standing, my wife was given an ecg, triaged and moved into the emergency dept Ambulatory area where there were 4 patients sitting in high backed chairs. The nurses were fantastic and although they were working amongst many patients they were empathetic and caring. It took 5 hours to get my wife’s heart beat back to normal. Whilst everyone we encountered was lovely, we felt that the night nurse in charge of my wife and the specialist registrar went beyond what one would expect of them. Whilst the politicians might say the NHS is broken, it’s not at the point of treatment. We have fantastic clinicians who work as hard as can be.

    I was admitted on Monday the 2nd of September 2024 till 3rd of September 2024 on ward b6. The midwife on the night shift on 2nd of September was outstanding because even though this was a very scary time for me being someone who has anxiety of hospital made me feel really cared for and listened to i felt like nothing was trouble for this midwife because she went above in her care for me and was extremely reassuring. The other staff member that I would like to give my credit to the midwife she was covering on the lunchtime break on b6 on the 3rd of September. This is how a midwife should be she was caring, understanding and extremely reassuring. I asked if I could have a sweep to see if my dilation had changed as I didn’t want to stay in hospital anymore but was in so much pain in my lower abdomen i didn’t want to make decisions without facts. she performed the sweep which didn’t cause me pain at all. she also then ran through everything that I have been asking questions about for two days. I wanted to know about inductions and how they work. I wanted to know about all methods of getting my baby out and this has been really important as I hadn’t been told this by my community midwife. she gave me all the information I needed to make an informed decision about my care. So all i can say is thank you. I really hope your the midwife who delivers my daughter into this world.

    My husband with terminal bladder cancer was sent an appointment after 8 months of no communication from QA for 15th August 2 pm The nurse who saw him was under the impression that he had come to get his catheter removed. He does not have a catheter!, this was a wasted journey and time, why can’t the medical staff not check patient’s notes and this was another example of miscommunication between medical and administrative staff, oh yes it happened before.We are no further forward in the care of my husband.
