  1. Review titled Nurses can't access critical systems when staff are absent

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by A cancer patient - Posted on 16 December 2022

I attended for a simple flush and dressing change but the usual team were off sick so I was asked to go to outpatients. When I eventually found the right Outpatients after wandering round Day Care the nurse on duty wasn't expecting me as she didn't have access to the appointments and wouldn't attend to me as she was going on a 45 minute break. She asked me to wait in the cafe until she came back, but I went back to Day Care where the duty nurse kindly attended to me (probably in her break time). It's awful that cover arrangements are so poorly organised that staff don't have access to the information they need about who is expecting treatment. Managers should shape up and support the nursing staff properly.

  2. Review titled We are so lucky to have you

by Shejed - Posted on 20 October 2022

Dad, who is now 92, had to visit D1 Ward for a vascular scan on his leg to confirm a blood clot. The waiting room was full but the treatment dad received was excellent. The nurses were kind and gentle with him. One nurse in particular went above and beyond her duties. She called us into her office to explain the findings of the scan which indeed was a clot. She then went on to explain treatment and made sure dad understood everything. She was so patient and lovely, even trying to arrange a chair as dad was struggling walking to get to pharmacy, by this time her shift had finished! We were not sure of the next step as dad is just getting over cancer treatment. Who would be looking after him now, Vascular plus Oncology? This question was answered today by the nurse phoning me, bless her, she has a beautiful heart ♥ Thank you for all you have done, D1, we are so lucky to have you.

  4. Review titled Excellent treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Tim Harwood - Posted on 20 October 2022

I would like to say how grateful I am for the treatment received from the Pain Management team. The paperwork received prior to my appointment was clear and concise. All staff from my greeting at reception to my release following a morning procedure were courteous, professional and caring. After suffering nagging back pain for years I am delighted with the relief given following radio frequency ablation. I was kept informed of every detail of the procedure throughout and I am so pleased with the results. I cannot thank you enough and I would recommend your department to anyone suffering similar issues.

  6. Review titled Efficient and caring

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment time and was ushered in to the specialist 5 minutes early. Both he and the attendant nurse were courteous and explained the procedure before it was carried out. The doctor asked how I was feeling halfway through the procedure, which involved a camera put down my throat via my nose, and asked if I was OK for him to continue. I have had several visits to QA over recent years and have always been very impressed by the kind staff and the efficiency of the system.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Robert Morley - Posted on 07 October 2022

Thank you to everyone. From GP practice, ambulance crew, ED and finally Cardiology. Friendly hard working staff always had time and patience to listen and explain. When a covid clean had to take place, even though it was early morning. It was done with vigour and thoroughly. Hats off to the cleaning staff. From consultant to cath lab staff to all ward staff, brilliant, absolutely no complaints and thank you.

I experienced a very efficient service provided by friendly and caring staff. The only negative due to lack of space was a lack of privacy when completing the booking in process.
