Review titled I can not praise this team enough.
by flutefb88 - Posted on 27 July 2023
My current care and treatment is at Pilgrim Hospital. From my first diagnosis to my current on going treatment I can not fault the staff for their care, compassion and professionalism. The chemo suite team are always on hand if help or advice is required and make having treatment a pleasant experience with their smiles and sense of humour. I can not praise this team enough.

Review titled Cannot fault the way I was treated
by Gilly27050 - Posted on 20 July 2023
Visited yesterday. Great experience. Was seen promptly by a fabulous Advanced Practitioner, with the assistance of her team and the Ultra Sound team. Cannot fault the way I was treated, in fact it was superb. Would highly recommend.

Review titled I am truly grateful for all the hard work
by Chris532 - Posted on 20 July 2023
The AMSS ward was amazing and a credit to the hospital. The staff there were, helpful reassuring and friendly. They really looked after me. The wards and toilets were meticulously clean and well looked after. I am truly grateful for all the hard work that every person took to look after me during my stay from the porters and admin staff to the nurses and doctors.

Review titled The staff are very helpful and reassuring.
by augustmb75 - Posted on 05 July 2023
All the procedures were explained very well staff were kind and courteous. Even though they were extremely busy they remained calm thereby creating a relaxed atmosphere for the patients. Also very reassuring is the initial checks - blood pressure/temperature/weight before proceeding to receiving treatment. Staff at reception are very helpful, I never have to worry about my next appointment as someone at reception sorts it out noting day-date-time along with necessary date for me to book blood test for next treatment. Might sound odd but I enjoy the experience. Keep up the good work we appreciate all you do for us.

Review titled Head Injury while on Blood Thinners
by bleeder81 - Posted on 09 August 2023
I had a fall and bang to head, while on blood thinners. I went into A&E as advised by 999 as ambulance would take hours to get to me. I wasn’t seen for 6 hours and then had bloods and cannula put in, then several hours later had CT scan. I was told I possibly had subdural bleed and needed to stay in for 48 hours. I was given one sandwich and cup of tea the whole time. Eventually a bed was found as 7:30am! I was scared and worried. In the Ward I was monitored and given pain relief. The doctor came and said I could go home at 1:00 pm but discharge paperwork took until 6:30pm. I would have preferred to have another CT to confirm the bleed had stopped as I am now home with headache and sleeping a lot and worried that it may still be bleeding.

Dear bleeder81 Thank you for the feedback regarding your experience in A&E. The department has been under immense pressure with the amount of people using the service, this causes significant delays for scans and bloods. The wait for an inpatient bed can also be delayed due to pressures within the hospital. Staff are working tirelessly to keep patients safe, and well cared for in our A&E. Nutritional rounding trolley is sent to the Chairs for treatment area every few hours and water is always available. Staff are in this area at all times, so requests for food can be made. We have also installed a new vending machine so that patients can purchase food for themselves. I cannot comment on the care received after A&E. Kind regards, Vikki

Review titled Really 1st class experience
by Rosie60 - Posted on 28 July 2023
I was clearly told my tests were to rule out cancer. I arrived needing a scan. Thought there should have been water on offer. Luckily I had taken my own flask and could refill it from the cold tap. Staff incredibly helpful and kind, absolutely no complaints there. Had 3 separate tests and went smoothly and quickly from one to the other. Kept me informed what was happening. The staff were very professional, respecting my dignity at all times, had a chaperone. I was only just over an hour at the hospital, having been warned on the letter there could be a lot of waiting about. Really 1st class experience. Result there and then, and everything was fine.
