Advised rest for a week and then walk on a metatarsal brake not offered crutches to use, said they would ring the next day to let me know my blood result and book me in the fracture clinic…. No call 2 days later rang hospital to be told I was discharged!! I rang my private doctor to be told I should rest up for 4 weeks no pressure on foot keep elevated, to wear a surgical stocking, never got one, keep in boot all times and on crutches for 4 weeks none of this was relaid to me never see a doctor they said that I should have an appointment to go back to have a X-ray to check it’s healed nothing has been mentioned from pilgrim, they have no air conditioning to keep the staff and patients clean and cool air totally awful experience would travel miles to get good service shocking!!

  4. Review titled Excellent care in A & E Resus unit

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lyn - Posted on 20 August 2024

I really want to give high praise to the Ambulance paramedics, the incredible Drs in the Resus unit and the nursing staff. Following a car accident yes I was there 12 hours but they never left me isolated, we knew what was going on, they attended to pain immediately, allowed my husband and son to be there. I was dreading the thought of A&E with previous experiences but not at this hospital. Thank you for taking such good care. It’s wonderful to see so many different cultures having one aim and that was to look after me with top notch care. Step down was just awful, very small but the one nurse who helped us to the car definitely went the extra mile. Thank you.

  6. Review titled Great pt care unless you're vegan/lactose intolerant

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 August 2024

Been several times to this A&E with my family members as well as myself. Whilst sandwiches and hot drinks are available for pts waiting and already admitted pts there are no milk alternatives for pts who are vegan or lactose intolerant. There are also never any vegan sandwiches available either. This goes against both the Equality Act 2010 and the CQC who quote "When a person has specific dietary requirements relating to moral or ethical beliefs, such as vegetarianism& veganism these requirements must be fully considered & met. Every effort should be made to meet people's preferences" The hospital does have small soya milk cartons (and A&E use to sometimes provide some) so why can't they now? Vegans pay their taxes too and shouldn't be allowed to go hungry with no food or hot drink and be punished just for living a healthier/cruelty-free lifestyle. My grandad with prostate cancer has been told to cut out all dairy, my step son is lactose intolerant & I don't consume any animal products for my health & for my cruelty free choices. Lincoln County Hospital has alternative milks (not sure about food) as does PCH (milks & sandwiches) as well as others. I've asked HCWs there as well as EMAS ambulance crews & they agree it's not right. The last para who brought myself in during an RTC last month said they were vegan & couldn't even get a hot drink during hand overs. I would like to know why this can't be provided & will be contacting local MP and the CQC as well as media if this isn't changed immediately. Otherwise the rest of the care from this department is wonderful. Thank you.

  7. Review titled A good experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Steph Wroe - Posted on 01 August 2024

Never been to this department before but I was pleased with the friendly Reception and clean and bright waiting room and toilet. I was seen by a nurse followed very quickly by the Consultant. He put me at ease as I wasn’t looking forward to an investigation into my eye! He was friendly, and explained what he was doing. There was no pain nor discomfort and even though I needed future minor surgery,I felt confident in his expertise to face that without fear.

  9. Review titled Unhelpful

Rated 1 star out of 5

Attended an out of hours appointment in A+E set up by 111 for a scan of my shoulder, which was giving me severe pain and waking me up as many as 20 times each night and prescribed medication from my GP as not touching it, having been ongoing for several days. Doctor seen in A+E confirmed "because your GP is investigating we wont do anything", no medication changes and no scans just sit and wait the pain out until you can go back to the GP. As a measure of appeasement i was eventually sent for an xray, which still hasn't been reported on, and a followup appt came through the next week with Ortho for a couple of weeks later. My shoulder is still causing me issues but have requested to be discharged from this service and asked my GP to refer me to another service for investigations.

  10. Review titled Awful

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 June 2024

I went into a&e at 11pm it was very busy as I expected it to be, I was triaged quickly but after that I was basically left until 9am, I was taken into the emergency ward where the staff were horrible, I am a young adult who was alone so all together I was already overwhelmed, the staff weren’t supportive and rolled their eyes at me and laughed when I asked them what was going on, the communication between them and me was appalling, I left at 5 o’clock the next day and felt the staff didn’t care. All together I didn’t have a great experience.
