I can’t speak highly enough of the care and service at the Orthopaedic and spinal hospital under the care of the specialist and his team. The entire experience was fantastic from the moment I arrived to the day I left. The staff were friendly and efficient and nothing was too much trouble for them. The dedication and professionalism of everyone was outstanding.

  3. Review titled Thank goodness I chose this hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Steve Hickling - Posted on 14 June 2024

From the moment I walked into this hospital, I was treated with respect and made to feel that I really, really did matter! From the first “good morning Sir” to my saying “thank you so, so much, goodbye” every single member of the hospital staff acted with amazing professionalism, deep rooted and genuine, knowledgeable care. I was visited by the surgeon, (such a gentle man) and the anaesthetist who both fully explained all that would happen whilst in surgery. The three nurses allocated to me were constantly keeping me informed of progress before surgery and cared for me non stop afterwards. I never felt alone or neglected (so important after surgery when you are in pain, and before surgery when you are worried and afraid) This hospital is utterly superb! The staff are completely amazing! As far as the surgeon is concerned, sports stars get a knighthood for one or two acts of supreme brilliance…….. this man performs professional acts of pure genius and brilliance most days, he should be knighted!!!! Thank you all so very much, I am well on the way to a great recovery and will never forget your professionalism, kindness and loving care you show to your patients. God bless you all!!

  5. Review titled Excellent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sylvia Langfield - Posted on 13 September 2024

The hospital is a very calm environment. All staff are extremely friendly and helpful. At my first appointment after referral the surgeon explained the procedure clearly and there was plenty of time to ask questions. Within two months I had my total knee replacement. The same nurses looked after me throughout my two day stay in hospital. They were most attentive. The room and en-suite facilities were excellent. Pain relief was provided whenever I needed it and I felt very well looked after. When the bandages were removed I was amazed to see there had been no bleeding and the stitches were so neat, like embroidery. The scar looked very neat as well. Before I left hospital I was given an exercise sheet together with some instructions from a physiotherapist. Having followed the exercise regime very carefully I have made an excellent recovery. Now, five months on, I can walk normally without pain and up and down stairs without holding on. The whole experience could not have been better, thanks to the most skilful surgeon and the dedicated medical and nursing staff.

  6. Review titled Great care and after care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Kevin Lloyd - Posted on 12 April 2024

The Operation was explained well and the nursing staff were always on hand to provide the care needed. The surgeon , anaesthetist and Physio explained every stage of the procure and recovery. The overnight stay was managed effectively with the night nursing staff always checking in when required. A week post Op and a call from the nursing staff checking on my progress was unexpected by a welcome comfort on the after after care. I am to see the District nurse next week who also phoned to confirm recovery was going well and provide care if needed. Overall a great Operation and so far the aftercare has been great.

  7. Review titled Wonderful experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by John Stephen Edhouse - Posted on 20 June 2024

I would very much like to thank my Consultant Surgeon, all the Nurses, and other staff, at the Orthopaedic and Spine Specialist Hospital, for all of the wonderful care and attention given to me during my short stay with them, at the end of April 2024. My Consultant Surgeon was very pleasant, caring and helpful on the day of my consultation. After questioning me, and giving me a thorough examination, he explained what the Spinal problem was, that was causing the aches and pain I was suffering with. He then explained the operating procedure he needed to perform to correct the problem. He also explained the positives, and possible negatives of the required operation. I felt safe in his hands, and agreed to proceed with the operation. My short stay at the hospital was a very pleasant experience. The nurses were always at hand to help, and give advice and care when I required it. After leaving the hospital, I had occasions to phone them and ask certain questions I had, and on each occasion I was given the same help and politeness that I had received during my short at the hospital. So thank you all very much, for everything you have done for me, and I would highly recommend your hospital to anyone needing medical treatment.

  8. Review titled Great team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Louis Taylor - Posted on 14 June 2024

My experience at the hospital was short but sweet. An over night stay to complete a spinal decompression. To start with, Dr S was one of the most helpful and knowledgeable Drs I’ve ever had the pleasure of dealing with. He was clear, to the point and kind. He didn’t sugar coat anything, stating exactly what would need to be done and the risks of it, whilst also remaining optimistic and centred about the whole thing. The rest of the team at the establishment were also an absolute delight, super friendly, helpful and caring (apart from the point I was told I’d be put into ‘the rabbit’ position, that came as a slight surprise! Haha). But honestly couldn’t recommend the place more highly in terms of the way I was treated when there and the effect it has now had on my life post op having no pain. I have been raving about it ever since. One slight constructive criticism I would make however would be about the after care. Even though I was made absolutely clear from the start that if I had any questions I could ring (which I did and was very helpful), I found the lack of any physio insight into what I was doing post surgery slightly difficult to judge my progress (I,e was what I was doing exercise wise at about week 7/8+ the right thing to be doing am I doing too much/too little etc). Though it didn’t bother me too much as I could ask people at my local gym The Universal Fitness Centre to help me out with some training and exercise plans.

  9. Review titled Very good hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had a total hip replacement surgery earlier this year. The operation was a great success and I’m now well on my way to getting my life back to normal, thanks to the amazing team of people who work at this hospital, I can’t praise all the staff highly enough. There was always someone around day or night if I needed any help or had any questions. My stay was very pleasant and the aftercare has also been very good.

  10. Review titled Great service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Christina Leggett - Posted on 21 February 2024

I first came across this consultant at Orthopaedic&Spine hospital, from a list supplied to me by my GP in 2021, when I needed a total hip replacement. I was then referred to the hospital’s head consultant. The hospital is small and privately practicing taking in NHS patients, of which I was one. From my very first visit and meeting with the consultant, I was treated with politeness and dignity. Everything was clearly explained to me and I was given plenty of opportunities to ask questions, which put me completely at easy. The hospital is a calm and comfortable place. The staffing team carry forward the consultant’s ideals, with professionalism and friendliness. I had to return to the hospital in 2024. For another hip replacement. I felt very lucky to receive this first class medical care. I had a two nights stay and the service was just the same back in 2021, first class. I would highly recommend this hospital for anyone requiring orthopaedic treatment.
