Everything dealt with very timely, on schedule, robust operation from the full team. Only thing I found disappointing there was no where to relax and no onsite cafe / restaurant which I've never found at a private hospital.

Referred for a Dexa bone scan by my GP. First appointment was cancelled 2 hours and 37 minutes before due to the scan machine being broken. Rescheduled for today so I checked my emails, my sms, my missed calls and my voicemail and nothing from the hospital saying it was cancelled again so I arrived for my appointment. I was booked in at reception and told to go to radiology waiting room which I did. I sat there a while then heard another patient being told to knock on a door in the waiting area. I then did the same only to be told the clinic was cancelled due to an unexpected absence of the only person they have at The Oaklands who can work that machine. I was told the machine operator could be off for some time and that they had tried to call me several times this morning. I had my phone log as evidence that nothing had been received. The main entrance receptionist clearly wasn’t aware it was cancelled either and non of my other contact methods had been used. On reading other reviews it seems I am not unusual and the reason today was cancelled is also mentioned previously. This shows to me that private hospitals are failing also.

I needed to have my gall bladder removed and from the moment check in was very easy, each nurse, anesthetist and surgeon all came and explained what would be happening. This was very reassuring as I hadn't had any operations before. From when I arrived till I left and afterwards when I needed some additional information there is not one negative thing I can think of. Friendly, supportive, professional, excellent all round

I have recently had a Total Hip Replacement on the NHS at Oaklands and my Orthopedic Surgeon and Team looked after me extremely well from entry right up until my discharge, I spent 4 days in the hospital and I can honestly say that it was a very pleasant stay and the Nursing team and all involved in my care could not do enough for me which made it a much easier start to my ongoing recovery at home, the cleanliness of my room was immaculate along with the rest of the hospital this was down to the hardwork of the housekeeping team who all were very pleasant whom I encountered and I would like to thank all the staff that was involved in my care especially my Surgeon for helping me on the road to being pain free again and looking forward to my future , I would highly recommend this hospital as during my stay the staff seemed dedicated to their work and this was displayed with a smile each time they entered my room to answer any call button request I made, I had a very comfortable stay, once again a huge thanks you are a credit to this hospital .

My consultant was extremely professional and caring. She kept me fully informed every step of the way, and visited me three times during my two night stay to enquire how I was feeling. I felt very safe and confident whilst under her care.

I had an appointment today at the ENT department. Despite dealing with breathing issues for four years, my concerns were dismissed without a thorough investigation. The doctor's contradictory statements about my septum being straight and then bent added to the confusion. I've been on four different steroid sprays without a clear understanding of my symptoms. The explanation provided was not only vague but delivered with a condescending tone. Commuting 50 minutes and spending money on transport only to leave with unanswered questions and disappointment was disheartening.

I am a very nervous person have a needle phobia but I would like to thank the Consultant and his team, from the minute I arrived everyone was so kind, they explained everything that what going to happen, when they took me down for the op they was all so attentive they made me feel a lot calmer. Thankyou everyone that helped me on that day I Cannot thankyou all enough.

The surgeon spent an entire 8 minutes explaining what I already new; with what I can only describe as a 'perfunctory' attitude, before making it clear the consult was over. I can only conclude that as I was a NHS referral, the consult would have been different if I had been a private paying patient. Not a good experience.
