  2. Review titled Felt abandoned

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Millie Ridgway - Posted on 08 July 2023

Such a shame to write this as I had a good start and it just went downhill, I came in with my daughter(1 day old) and she had surgery the same night we arrived and they were excellent with her, couldn’t knock them. Her recovery was going so well after and she got moved upstairs to the children ward which was meant to be a step closer to bringing her home after we spent 2 weeks being in neonatal with her. However it wasn’t, we was told no plan for a discharge date after being here for 3 weeks , the doctors forgot about her for a whole day when they was meant to do a flush on her which was meant to be done twice a day and they didn’t show up once to see her , the nurses agreed that she is fine to go home ,however we just needed consent from the surgeon to let her go ,he hadn’t been to see her once since the surgery and wasn’t prioritising her at all. We felt so abandoned and not cared about. He definitely didn’t rush to get her home. We spent days and days sitting here with no progress at all and am currently still here.

by David Richmond - Posted on 09 June 2023

My visit to the department started with an anxious feeling wondering how long I would be there.Right from the start I was treated with courtesy and great attitude. Every member I dealt with from Blood tests,ECG's,X Ray,Doctor consultation, down to reception staff, were above and beyond helpful. Take a bow. I was deeply thankful and appreciative.

  4. Review titled So poor it was downright inhumane

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Judith Wrigley - Posted on 02 July 2023

My GP sent me to A&E for a scan having diagnosed a kidney stone. No one at A&E would even look at the letter she sent me with, so examinations and tests were repeated after hours of waiting. I was there for 9 hours with no pain relief - there is a sign telling patients to ask for it, but good luck actually managing that, and when you finally do, they won't give you pain relief anyway, because they haven't got your notes. There is a water fountain, with teeny cups, so I got very dehydrated in that painful, desperately uncomfortable 9 hours. The next day my GP suggested that I was so dehydrated I should go back to A&E for a saline drip. I refused to go back. To quote Fawlty Towers, I have seen better organised things running round farmyards with their heads cut off. I know there are staff shortages, but this is massively compounded by a level of organisation that any primary school teacher could improve upon. The whole experience was a disgrace.

  5. Review titled Thank you!

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Thank you so much for your help. Last Thursday a young lady that we know was a patient in your hospital. Her op had to be abandoned. So we sent a smiley card in the post thinking that she would be staying in hospital for a while. Well you came up trumps! She was back home on the Saturday afternoon. She has received the card today at her home address. Thank you for posting it on. It could just have been disposed of, but someone took the time to get it to our young friend. This is beyong expectations!

  6. Review titled Fantastic walk in service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 29 June 2023

I attended eye casualty this morning as my eye sight was blurry. What a fantastic , caring , efficient ,walk in ! Service. I was given good advice on the phone to come in for 9am when the doctors arrived.I was seen by several lovely professionals and given a state of the art scan of my eye .After a very in-depth and thorough examination of my eye and health questions it was a relief to be told my eyes were just a bit dry and to get some drops. Altogether with the medilink I was there and back in 4 hours. A few people were moaning about the wait, probably just worried. I feel very lucky and grateful for the care I recieved.Thank you !

  8. Review titled Disappointing experience

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 June 2023

I cannot fault the surgeons or surgery side of my time at Queens Medical centre, but no bed available put my morning surgery to last of the day, they mislaid my bag and clothes because of the bed delay and took till the next afternoon to find them, the food was awful, some of the nurses were a bit offhand, overall I hated my experience here especially after being told this was one of the best hospitals but it did not live upto expectations.

  9. Review titled Thank you

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Kath Strickland - Posted on 20 August 2023

Whilst on a short visit to my daughter in Nottingham, I fell and fractured my hip. The treatment, I received during my five and a half week stay was amazing. I was very apprehensive about the operation , but the surgeon and anaethetist inspired complete confidence. The care I received afterwards was superb - I have other health problems, and the way the doctors consulted with other departments was an example of complete care. the codes are amazing. The food was excellent and nothing was too much trouble trouble for the staff. Coming home to my local hospital was a bit of a come down and if, I had to have an accident, I was very lucky to be taken to Queens Medical Centre Thank you all.

  10. Review titled Amazing staff!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Rachel - Posted on 20 August 2023

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the staff that I came into contact with after recently breaking my wrist. Everyone in A&E was super lovely, kind and caring. I then had amazing aftercare at the Fracture Clinic/Treatment centre! All of the staff I came into contact with went above and beyond. I loved that the guys in Plaster room always had a smile on their face too! Also a huge thank you to the lady (plaster room) who was working one Saturday morning when I phoned up due to an issue with my cast. She was absolutely lovely on the phone and after an initial conversation told me come in so they could check everything was okay. She was so friendly and took my concerns seriously and I left feeling reassured and not in pain. Amazing that we have such a brilliant NHS with such fantastic staff. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
