    From arriving to leaving approximately 5 hours later, the attention I was given,was second to none.Nothing was to much trouble and all the staff were fantastic. Their findings and advice was correct and I am on the mend.

    The Dentist was excellent and the nurses, the service l received was excellent way better than l expected and could not find any fault whatsoever despite what the government says!!! Thank you

    I have been to qmc a23 around 8 9 times. Never gotten checked on time. Due to lack of doctors. We attend a23 gyne triage after making call and getting confirmation we can visit now. Still you have to wait for another 5 6 hours in pain. Upon asking the receptionist or nurses the response is Doctor is with another patient there is only one doctor on duty. However there is always a building work going on. Why don't QMC hire more doctors. Then just spending money on windows and building repairs. If we go to A&E average waiting time is 8 hours to be seen by doctors. What's the point of calling it emergency service? When you have to suffer in pain for 8 hours sometimes more than that to get checked. At the end we get to hear take paracetamol you will be fine. No tests nothing just take paracetamol. So frustrating. With GPs they never have appointments available. Where do we go to be seen by doctors when we actually need help?

    My husband attended accident and emergency on 17/08/2024. He was seen immediately. Tests were done and assessed and he was then moved to Ma jors 1. The ward was extremely busy and trolleys were everywhere, with patients being moved in and out of bays to have access to equipment as needed. Despite this the ward had an air of peace and calm. Everyone had a job to do and just got on with it. There was an air of quiet efficiency. The nurse in charge on the evening of the 17th was extremely professional and very kind. In a busy emergency ward she stopped briefly to check on all patients and reassure them. Assistants checked my husband every hour and one young woman tirelessly washed chairs, trolleys and beds so that they were ready for new patients, yet she still had a smile and a word for the patients. My husband needed to be admitted but unfortunately no bed was available at that time. However he was made very comfortable. The next day he was transferred to ward b3. Where he, once again, received first class treatment. After a few days in ward b3 he was released on 20/08/2024 and continues his recovery at home. Our grateful thanks to everyone who helped him.     The receptionist was so good and cheerful. Saw who may have been a nurse who was very nice. The lady doctor was so caring and thorough I was so worried and she put me at ease and reassured me. Thank you all.

    4 weeks after a scan,hepatology have still not sent me any correspondence at all regarding the result,or outcome of the MDT meeting. Follow up appt 12 weeks wait.

    Sent from my GP with letter. Ankle injury. Unable to weight bear. Heard horror stories about waiting, so I came with cereal bars, chocolate, apple, drink, painkillers, kindle, phone charger & power bank. Only real problem for me was booking in-long, slow moving queue. Standing on 1 leg, like a flamingo for 15 minutes not possible. So I was almost in tears with pain. Why oh why aren't there chairs to move along on? After that everything fabulous. Only read 2 chapters before called in, very, very pleasant nurse, asked about pain relief and took brief history. X ray ordered, I needed to change x ray room as equipment failed. after I was positioned. Noticed other items labelled "medical physics not to be used"Back to waiting room. Again read a few chapters and then saw another friendly, efficient, specialist nurse. Wasn't sure what was wrong, so referred to fracture clinic. But I was given a moon boot, which was fabulous as I could actually walk then. Also offered crutches but didn't need them with boot. I live alone and had been literally hanging on to furniture to get round house. Then horror struck again. To get appointment at fracture clinic, I needed to queue at booking desk again. This time it was 19 minutes. Even with moon boot, I was in agony. I left the department just over 2 hours after arrival. All staff were amazing and so helpful, kind and friendly. However that queue with no seats is dreadful and rather coloured my otherwise excellent experience. As a child I was taken to casualty as it was called, for stitches in a head wound. I clearly remember sitting on a long bench and shuffling along as each person was dealt with. That was 64 years ago but I was able to sit then. 2 years ago I spent 18 hours with my 89 year old confused and poorly mother in a QMC A&E corridor, so I was expecting a very long wait this time. One of my memories of that terrible time is the lack of chairs. Relatives are providing care for their loved ones in the corridor as staff are an endangered species. Yet there were no chairs for relatives. Some carers were over 80 themselves. I know sitting for long periods is bad for you, but what have QMC got against chairs?

We apologise for the lack of seating however due to space constraints and fire safety requirements we are unable to add more chairs – That being said we would urge you to make us aware of any discomfort so that we can provide temporary seating in another area as we would not want you to injure yourself further during your wait.     Had to take my elderly mother to A&E following a fall which resulted in a broken wrist. 1 hour 20 mins from arrival to leaving with temp plaster on wrist and follow up appointment at fracture clinic for following day. From reception to nurse practioner, all staff were friendly, communicated clearly and put mother and elderly father at ease. A credit to the NHS. Thank you

    The staff that work for the NHS are simply incredible, today they made me feel so safe and comfortable in A&E and the whole experience was 5 star. I am so grateful for the staff that supported me today. They really do go the extra mile to care for their patients.

  10. Review titled MRI Department - Top marks!

    I recently attended the MRI Unit at QMC for a set of complex scans. I was seen promptly and from start to finish the care was professional and friendly. The scans by their nature took a long time and throughout I was extremely well looked after with good humour despite being at the end of a long day for the staff. Well done and thank you - I couldn't ask for anything better
