Went to Dental Hospital 11/09/24 and was seen a final year dental student from Manchester for my emergency appt. He was warm friendly also very informative tell me at every stage what was going on. I tooth extraction and it was so easy and painless. Probably the best dentist I have had. Lee

Absolutely ridiculous they don't have a clue on timings of appointments not all but one receptionist is really rude had multiple appointments and left in pain during 4 weeks wait during next appointments which resulted in infection to be told over and over again that because the appointments were to long in-between would have to keep going back travelling a long distance every time God for bid there is traffic because they will not see you and have to wait again for another appointment

Review titled Staff and service first class
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I recently had to bring my elderly frail and demented Mum in for a significant surgical procedure in order to improve her quality of life as she was suffering from recurrent infections. Mum was treated with the utmost care and attention from all the staff at RVI dental hospital. Most particularly, though, her consultant and dental nurse were so professional yet exuded such care and warmth towards my mum, totally putting her at ease. I cannot thank them enough for all they did for Mum on Wednesday and I’m hopeful that their hard work and dedication means that Mum will not have to suffer anymore. After spending an hour working on Mum, they even helped me get her to the car and helped her in despite getting soaked as it was pouring with rain. They went ‘over and above’ and I’m so grateful.

Review titled RVI dentist hospital

My son has learning difficulties. I took him today and the understanding and care they give him was above and beyond. I was anxious due to his lack of capacity, they worked around his needs and also helped refer to a special needs dentist. It took some time to reassure and assess him but not once did they complain or get impatient. I don’t normally get this experience so I was anxious but they was so lovely and was fantastic with him . I can’t express how grateful I was to them . Absolutely amazing. And a big Thankyou more than words could say .

Review titled Amazing Care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Jessica Russell - Posted on 09 December 2023
I can't explain enough how wonderful the staff treated me at the dental hospital. I had a large abcsess and needed a root canal on an oddly formed tooth. The students were so caring and walked me through everything and did a great job. The senior staff gave amazing tutoring to the students and it was a pleasure to aide in their learning. The student treating me even took my case on for future appointments as I need further treatment he called me within an hour of me leaving to give me my next appointment. Amazing place.

Review titled Very child friendly
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Roslyn L - Posted on 15 December 2023
My daughter attended the hospital for some treatment. The person who did the treatment along with their team were brilliant. It was very clear what was happening with the treatment plan. An appointment was then made quickly for the treatment and the appointment was carried out as planned. They were amazing with my daughter who can get worried about these situations. They really put her at ease and even she has commented how brilliant her dentist at the hospital is. She wishes all her dental appointments were there! Thank you to everyone involved for all you have done, not just the treatment itself but for how comfortable you made my daughter feel and how your professionalism and friendliness put us at ease. The NHS and its patients are lucky to have you.

I called up to see how long I would need to wait on the list for surgery. 3 time I was hung up on. If this is how they treat patients in pain then this county is screwed

Review titled Wonderful service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Laura - Posted on 18 August 2023
I rang 111 for an emergency appointment due to toothache, the woman on the phone was lovely, super helpful. Got an appointment the following day, the team at the dental hospital were amazing, faultless, from the friendly ward clerks to the dentist who saw me. Who may I add was excellent, so reassuring and understanding. Put me at ease straight away and put me out of pain! Amazing team, worth your weight in gold! Best dentist I’ve ever encountered, because I’m usually super nervous.

Had my first appt for restorative services in nov. Had the next scheduled for dec which I had to cancel due to covid and I was informed I'd get another through the post. This didnt happen and I had to call for one. Got another appt for march where i just sat outside xray for an hour then had to leave as i rely on public transport and live in Middlesbrough (I did ask for an earlier appointment due to this factor along with the fact I am my sons carer and was refused), so I was informed I'd get another through the post, still hasnt happened. I called last week and got told theyve been off over easter - still no appointment. The person dealing with me knows I have a loose tooth, looks like I'll be losing it doesnt it.
