  1. Review titled Great experience from start to finish.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Darren Baker - Posted on 02 August 2024

Underwent knee surgery on the 1st of August 24, cannot thank all the staff involved enough from start to finish, From the Receptionist who welcomed me upon arrival to the nurse who booked me before going for my operation, to the theatre and recovery staff and most of all the surgical team and anaesthetist who looked after me throughout my operation. I cannot highly recommend the Hospital & the staff enough for their compassion dedication & support throughout my journey, I will now be seen by the physio team until I see my surgeon again in three months time and is just about to have a well-deserved holiday with his family enjoy.

  2. Review titled Unacceptable service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Kat Foreshaw - Posted on 08 July 2024

I regret to say that my experience with New Hall Hospital has been extremely disappointing. As an NHS patient, I was referred for surgery in 2023 and chose this hospital based on the promise of a 26-week waiting time. One year and i am still waiting. When i made enquiries I was reminded that I am an NHS patient, not a private one, as if this justified the delay. The lack of communication, coupled with the failure to adhere to the stated timelines, has caused me significant distress. The NHS funds these surgeries, and private doctors should comply with the agreed schedules. This experience has been frustrating and unacceptable. I cannot recommend New Hall Hospital based on this experience. They need to improve their scheduling, communication, and overall patient care standards, especially for NHS patients.

Kat Foreshaw, thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback about your experience with us. All our NHS treatment times are within 18 weeks, often lower depending on the specialty. If you think something has gone wrong with your care we welcome you to have a further discussion with us, please contact the management team at New Hall Hospital. Kind regards. New Hall Hospital.

  3. Review titled Very let down / second class

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Andy - Posted on 31 July 2024

Dreadful experience you knew you were NHS treated like a second class citizen kept waiting for hours left alone no updates no water for 10 hours staff were ok this hospital has no interest but just to make money at any cost Of course if your not private you get treated in a bad way , they squeeze you after they done all the private ones meaning is your op going to be done properly and not rushed ! Because your last and they want to go home Please go else where

Dear Patient, Unfortunately, the first spinal case on the day took longer than anticipated and was a delay that could not be foreseen. We always try to run on time and ensure patients are kept informed. We remain sincerely sorry for the wait and that you decided not to wait for your surgery. We have offered two further dates for surgery, this week and next week, which you have sadly declined. We always treat patients with dignity and respect, we are sorry you did not feel this was your experience. We hope you get your surgery soon and wish you well with your recovery. Kind regards New Hall Hospital

  4. Review titled Very poor

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Andy Moore - Posted on 02 August 2024

Following on from the Answer given by new hall .saying they offered me two other dates to have surgery and after being treated like a second class citizen and rearranging work commitments and now reading the reviews I’m glad I never took up further treatment they can’t seem to deal with this second class situation, all it seems to be is a money making machine and the NHS paying the bill shocking I’m not going to put my self through that again and warn others to read the reviews! I’ve waited years to have the op and was looking forward to it only to be treated the way they did , you try and talk or phone the director you can’t , instead the secretary takes all the anger wrong really, plus all blood tests are sent to Sainsbury’s Odstock ( NHS ) as they can’t test it on there site more money I could go on but it may take all day.

  6. Review titled Why book appointments

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Annoyed NHS - Posted on 16 February 2024

Why bring people in so early to be sat around for three hours, I can only assumes it’s because I am NHS, which seems to be said with a undertone by all staff, I am writing this on hour three, from my booked in time, have seen people arrive after me and go to theatre, no news, no explanation, no update. Having to take time off post operation this could have been a half day that I did not need to take off. Very disappointing.

  7. Review titled Wonderful experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mandy Cripps - Posted on 15 December 2023

From outpatients, through theatres and my ward stay everything was superb. The theatre staff were kind and gentle, the anaesthetist and surgeon gave full and clear explanations. The ward physio and nursing staff were professional and attentive. The housekeeping staff were also friendly. Having been a nurse for over 40 years, I was disappointed that I couldn’t have my operation at my hospital and was referred to New Hall but I believe my experience there was probably better than I would have received. Big shout out to all the team at New Hall!

from consultation with my surgeon, surgery and post operative care my experience was one of extreme care and total professionalism. all the staff were friendly and reassuring at all times. from the lovely cleaning staff to the nurses and physio’s my experience there was a1. my consultant was clear, concise and explained the procedure so that I was left with no doubt as to what to expect. the risks were explained as well as the positives. i felt informed and able to make the decision to go ahead with the procedure which i am happy to say has had the best result I could have wished for. my grateful thanks to everyone involved with my care.

  9. Review titled Pre op assessment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Julie Nash - Posted on 05 May 2023

This nurse deputy practitioner I do belive wish I could remember her name. She treated me so wonderfully, she couldn't get any veins for blood tests, she got a Dr and anesthetist who both were successful, the nurse noticed I was crying, she thought they'd hurt me,but no I was crying because they got my blood,I was so scared they would cancel my surgery otherwise as I've waited so long, the nurse was kind and sensitive, she went over all the pre op paper work, she even turned some music on to help my nerves,so thank you so much.

  10. Review titled Left in pain

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Julie nash - Posted on 04 February 2023

I was referred here 2 years ago, starting with phone consultation which was OK during covid, had an injection which didn't work at all,so waited ages to be actually seen, had another mri done which showed my spinal issue had worsen, saw the consultant again after mri,who discussed the treatment needed,I completely trusted him he said he did 6 or 7 of this surgery's a week, and showed me my scan and explanations what he needed to do I was so happy to think at last my pain might lesson or go away I left very happy he was putting me on the list, then I get a call 4 weeks later err I want you to have a 2nd opinion..why...an mri isn't going to change, I left a review and got contacted by the hospital who said you are being seen by so and so February ok I thought not long to wait, but no a letter drops on my door for the end of march,I cried alot, iam in alot of pain have waited so long, and I belive it's because iam not a paying customer and belive me I would if I could,so new hall you have been a let down, and your treatment of me not good, and iam looking to take this further.

Hello I am sorry you felt you were delayed, our surgeons often refer to other surgeons for second opinions to ensure their decision to treat is appropriate; we know surgery isn't the answer for everyone and we don't want to a patient through surgery that is unlikely to help their individual situation. Please feel welcome to contact us directly to discuss further, either with your surgeon or the management team. Kind regards. The team at New Hall Hospital.
