  1. Review titled Children’s A&E

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 30 September 2024

I bought my 10 year old daughter to accidental & emergency department after she sustained quite a nasty head injury at school. We went to the urgent care first as advised by 111 due to her headache, dizziness, nausea etc but was sent to the hospital after the doc examined her. The nurse and the doctor that we saw were in the accident & emergency department was nothing other than absolutely fantastic. They took their time with my daughter, explained everything really well & calmed her down when she became panicked. I cannot praise the staff at MK Hospital enough. Thank you for all you do in keeping our children safe & well :)

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Blood pressure check - Posted on 14 September 2024

Easy parking and little wait as the department was at a separate entrance to the main hospital. The nurses took great care to explain what was going to happen. Clear instructions were give for use and all very efficient. Easy to return machine once tests complete and now just waiting for results

  3. Review titled Surgery wait times

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Michelle Thompson - Posted on 09 October 2024

I was admitted twice within a week in July and had excellent care from all staff in a&e and on ward 21b despite wait times for a bed. Whilst in hospital I had an urgent mri and biopsy. I was told two weeks for both results and they had gone through as urgent . Mri was 8 wks and biopsy 13 wks I had to go through my GP to get results as I was so worried . Still no letter from Gynae with biopsy result. Had app with gynae 7th Aug to be told Surgery will go ahead as urgent but not on the cancer pathway but it would be 2/3 weeks once biopsy results were back. Next App 30th Aug still no results back but put on the urgent list for surgery and told 2/3 months and that it didn’t matter what the biopsy results were as everything was being removed anyway. Good news though that it’s not cancer however the words used by both gynae doctors were let’s get it out before it can turn sinister. I was Sent away with no pain management atall and put on the list. Been suffering chronic pain since June and can barely get through a day. Called admissions for rough surgery date last wk to be told a year!!! When I asked if consultants are aware of wait times I was told yes but they are ignoring it!!! No one was going to contact me and inform me of this so called drastic change in just five weeks of the wait times since going on the list in Aug. How can this be an urgent list???!!! By all accounts there are not enough theatre slots and the hospital are not meeting targets. I could’ve gone back to a&e several times the last few weeks but it’s pointless as you are just sedated with morphine and sent home then pinged back to gynae. I’ve had to make several calls to the gynae secretary who has been amazing in trying to help. She has mailed my gynae doctor that is doing the surgery several times to no avail! In total I’ve seen 6 gynae doctors since June who have all been very understanding and given what they think is wrong. Telling patients incorrect wait times is in excusable. The impact this has had on my quality of life the last five months has been unbearable to now be told I have to stay like this for another year. Every service is manned by an answer phone and it takes weeks for a callback accept the gynae secretary and this includes PALs who I have tried to contact . No one gets back to use as this service is also struggling!!! I have another appointment on the 17th Oct to try and get some pain relief and an answer as to why I was told 2/3 months??

My husband had nasty fall. Triage X-ray Scan Treatment all carried out efficiently. Lovely doctor who seemed to be on duty day and night while I was there . Arrived after 111 call arrived about midday and my husband treated and installed in bed on ward 20 less than 12 hours later. Could not fault treatment. Thank you all

  8. Review titled Good treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by MRS L A SMITH - Posted on 25 June 2024

I had an accident in my garden and had a wound in my leg. I was seen very quickly and after irrigating the wound and blood taken I had an X Ray. It was then a long wait but the department was very busy - many with injuries sustained after a fall. When a doctorwas available he treated my leg and sent me on my way with a prescription foe antibiotics. Of course I would have liked the wait to be shorter but all of the staff were kind and efficient. Thank you all

  9. Review titled Excellent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jacqueline Coram - Posted on 14 June 2024

I was taken to A&E and was treated with kindness and care. The wait was horrendous, but that was no fault of the staff. Right through the nursing, doctors and the lady at reception, they couldn't have been nicer or done more. I didn't want to go to the hospital, but the lovely paramedics that attended me at home, assured me it was the best thing to do. They too were brilliant. For my treatment that night, I have nothing but praise for then. Thank you.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Vee - Posted on 20 September 2024

I would just like to start by saying thank you to all the staff on the labour ward. I generally have never met such amazing caring strangers before. They way they helped me through it all and were so kind was just beautiful. All the ladies made me feel so comfortable and just listened to everything i said and asked for. I just cant explain how lovely they all are how amazing my room was and how supportive they were to me. Its so hard to explain how they made me feel under the circumstances but they helped me bring my baby boy safely into the world and i will forever be grateful i had such beautiful souls to help me. Just amazing women
