  1. Review titled Lovely doctor

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Gemma - Posted on 04 September 2024

During my visit at a&e I had a lovely young male doctor initials l.s. He was very friendly and compassionate. He made me feel at ease the whole time. He’s a credit to the nhs. I did have a couple of nurses see me but I didn’t get there names. They were also lovely. The only issue I had was the volunteer woman who was monitoring the queue for a&e reception. She was so rude and had a serious attitude towards myself and other patients just because we went to the wrong queue. She’s more suited as a nightclub bouncer who should have already retired.

  5. Review titled The birth of my first baby

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Courtney - Posted on 14 August 2024

I cannot thank the nurses, doctors, midwives and care assistants enough. My first experience of labour could not have been better. I was so looked after and re assured with all my worries from the day I was induced to the day I went home. I felt as though I was failing my baby when I thought I couldn't push or cope anymore but thanks to all the team that supported me from labour to delivery to post partum. I am now a more confident first time mummy and its only been 4 days and we have been home for 2 so if you are unsure of where you want to deliver your baby. Leeds general infirmary is the team to choose. The staff are always happy to help and nothing is an issue whatever you need they will do it. My little boy was in such great hands and my worries were resolved. He has been home 2 days and is still a happy baby. Thankyou team for all your hard work x

I cannot fault any of the team in Mac, the delivery ward or after care ward. All the staff from housekeeping to Surgeon/anethetist were impeccable, caring and compassionate! Just outstanding from start to finish!

  7. Review titled Ward 22 - LGI

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 27 July 2024

I have just been discharged from Ward 22 at the LGI and I feel the need to escalate my experience on this ward. This ward is supposed to specialise in plastics, such as amputations etc. In my personal experience, my whole right (dominant) hand was fully bandaged and out of use. The meals that we brought to me were just left, leaving me having to attempt to cut up food small enough so I could actually eat something with only my left hand in use - proving impossible. It was very rare that hot drinks are offered, there was not one time I was offered a hot drink in between meal times and rare that I was even offered a drink at a mealtime too. I think as a whole the majority of staff on this ward need to have further training in compassion, dignity and just to be able to actually care for someone (and when I say majority, I really mean that the actual staff who are kind, compassionate and caring are the minority - which is such a shame) I had to brush my teeth with hot water because there was no cold running water in the bathroom, it was either very hot or extremely hot and when I took a shower, the seal on the shower was broken meaning I flooded the bathroom and was only given two small hand towels before entering (this had been an on-going issue for weeks when I was speaking with fellow patients in the ward). This ward needs major improvements and training for basic care, I could go on. All I can say is I am so glad to be discharged and to be home where someone actually cares about me and wants to help me.

  8. Review titled Amazing practice!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ben - Posted on 10 July 2024

The staff were all very attentive and have never been looked after so well I would dearly like to thanks everyone who was there including the receptionist, the nurses who took my readings and blood snd looked after me. If I hadn’t gotten the physical and emotional care I got from the lovely staff I would likely have been in a much worse state. Thanks very much I will be forever grateful for your service! Ben

  9. Review titled Great Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Gloria Pace - Posted on 30 June 2024

I was down on Cardiology list to have stent fitted. In early hours of Wednesday 26th June 2024, was brought into A and E where tests showed a small heart attack. Staff from Cardiology came to see me and it was decided to bring stent insertion to that day, everything being explained to my husband and I in great detail. I was taken up to procedure room, met by wonderful caring good humoured staff, including my specialist I met earlier in the year. They made what could have been a worrying experience into something I could tolerate and find interesting. (I am known for being a bit of a coward). So very well done on that score alone. 2 stents were fitted, and then taken to Ward 19. The care, kindness and good humour excellent to the point I was disappointed to leave later and transferred to Ward 18. However the same standard of care, kindness and good humour were found there. All in all Cardiology outstanding, for making what could have been an extremely frightening and serious experience into something I will always be grateful for. Thank you so much.

  10. Review titled Great unit

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Karen Smith - Posted on 27 June 2024

Arrived for my endoscopy this morning in a very nervous state after a previous procedure scarred me for life. Well I just want to say from beginning to end what a fabulous experience. I was put at ease from start to finish. The procedure went extremely well, not a bit of pain, I was sedated. Just want to thank all the staff for getting me through it without a hitch. You are all amazing. Thank you again.
