Review titled Doctors and nurses were great, other A&E problem
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 29 October 2024
Whilst the doctors and nurses were kind and helpful, there were a couple of police officers in the waiting room who I feel were being incredibly insensitive. There was a patient lying presumably unconscious (and not moving) on the floor in the corner of the room whom they weren't even slightly checking up on, whilst they were chatting and laughing together, completely ignoring everything else going on. It was rude, and honestly they clearly did not care about what was going on. At least the doctors and nurses were kind and helpful and caring.

Review titled Fantastic team , Great care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by John Hall - Posted on 07 October 2024
I have just today had a cardiac ablation ,done on ward 14 of the Jubilee wing of the leeds general infirmary my experience has been exceptional from the staff looking after me in my room , i would say there names but you are not allowed too in this review. They all made me feel so at ease and i want for nothing the surgeon and his team who did the procedure were also fantastic They made sure i was always aware of what was happening and why they went above and beyond including some light hearted banter I felt comfortable at all times and very well looked after Indeed I am one happy patient and very grateful for the care I received thank you

Review titled Lovely doctor
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Gemma - Posted on 04 September 2024
During my visit at a&e I had a lovely young male doctor initials l.s. He was very friendly and compassionate. He made me feel at ease the whole time. He’s a credit to the nhs. I did have a couple of nurses see me but I didn’t get there names. They were also lovely. The only issue I had was the volunteer woman who was monitoring the queue for a&e reception. She was so rude and had a serious attitude towards myself and other patients just because we went to the wrong queue. She’s more suited as a nightclub bouncer who should have already retired.

Review titled The birth of my first baby
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Courtney - Posted on 14 August 2024
I cannot thank the nurses, doctors, midwives and care assistants enough. My first experience of labour could not have been better. I was so looked after and re assured with all my worries from the day I was induced to the day I went home. I felt as though I was failing my baby when I thought I couldn't push or cope anymore but thanks to all the team that supported me from labour to delivery to post partum. I am now a more confident first time mummy and its only been 4 days and we have been home for 2 so if you are unsure of where you want to deliver your baby. Leeds general infirmary is the team to choose. The staff are always happy to help and nothing is an issue whatever you need they will do it. My little boy was in such great hands and my worries were resolved. He has been home 2 days and is still a happy baby. Thankyou team for all your hard work x

Review titled Ward 22 - LGI
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 27 July 2024
I have just been discharged from Ward 22 at the LGI and I feel the need to escalate my experience on this ward. This ward is supposed to specialise in plastics, such as amputations etc. In my personal experience, my whole right (dominant) hand was fully bandaged and out of use. The meals that we brought to me were just left, leaving me having to attempt to cut up food small enough so I could actually eat something with only my left hand in use - proving impossible. It was very rare that hot drinks are offered, there was not one time I was offered a hot drink in between meal times and rare that I was even offered a drink at a mealtime too. I think as a whole the majority of staff on this ward need to have further training in compassion, dignity and just to be able to actually care for someone (and when I say majority, I really mean that the actual staff who are kind, compassionate and caring are the minority - which is such a shame) I had to brush my teeth with hot water because there was no cold running water in the bathroom, it was either very hot or extremely hot and when I took a shower, the seal on the shower was broken meaning I flooded the bathroom and was only given two small hand towels before entering (this had been an on-going issue for weeks when I was speaking with fellow patients in the ward). This ward needs major improvements and training for basic care, I could go on. All I can say is I am so glad to be discharged and to be home where someone actually cares about me and wants to help me.

Review titled Amazing practice!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Ben - Posted on 10 July 2024
The staff were all very attentive and have never been looked after so well I would dearly like to thanks everyone who was there including the receptionist, the nurses who took my readings and blood snd looked after me. If I hadn’t gotten the physical and emotional care I got from the lovely staff I would likely have been in a much worse state. Thanks very much I will be forever grateful for your service! Ben
