  1. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Nikki - Posted on 27 January 2023

I was admitted today as a day case for Specialty Pain Management procedure. From start to finish there was an air of calm, friendliness and efficiency. I could not fault the service I received and was overwhelmed at the professionalism and the checks that were done at every level. The whole experience was extremely smooth and stress free. Thank you to all involved.

My appointment was on time, the member of staff was informative, efficient and professional. I was out again in ten minutes and the results were with my GP the following day. Thank you.

  3. Review titled A little disappointed although staff very kind

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 February 2023

My 85 year old husband was given an appointment for a procedure under general anaesthetic last Thursday 26th January in the Day Surgery Unit. The department is clean and bright with staff that were professional but also kind and caring, but the appointment system seems to have been set up to cause maximum stress both to the patient and to the medical staff. Having arrived at 12 noon, along with a continual stream of patients who appeared to have the same time appointments, the waiting area was packed and there was no infection control, such as face masks, either being requested or in place. After 3 hours sitting waiting in some pain my husband was finally able to ascertain that ‘he would be seen in the next hour or so as he is the last in about 50 patients’, now too late for his 80 year old driver to go home and return when needed, by the time the procedure had been done both he and his driver had been on the hospital premises for 6 hours. Obviously we are thankful for the care given to my husband and we would expect at the moment to wait even longer in an A & E Department but this department is for ‘elective care’ and having such a large amount of people waiting for treatment at the same time cannot be good for either the patients or the staff, and are disappointed that more thought hasn’t been given to the present appointment system.

  4. Review titled Day Surgery wonderful experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had a procedure that required a short stay and sedation in the day surgery unit. The doctor and nurses were so professional and polite and put me at ease as soon as I arrived. I couldn’t have asked for more, thank you.

  5. Review titled Staff are so helpful

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by N Bridges - Posted on 14 September 2022

The hospital is large & not easy to find your way around, although there are plenty of signs. All of the staff are so friendly & helpful no matter what time it is. I cannot fault there efforts in trying to keep the Hospital clean & running smoothly. They seem happy staff & this comes across in the way all Staff treat the people within the hospital. With all older buildings there are obvious signs of wear & tear & it is not a modern sparkling hospital but the care you receive is excellent - they all do the best they can. I found no problem finding parking for the car & the charge is not expensive, max £10 a day or £12 for 5 days. The Departments visited where Urgent Care Centre & the Urology Clark Ward, the friends shop & the restaurant. But all the staff willingly offered help each time I appeared lost.
