  2. Review titled communications failure

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I had an appointment for 11.05 on the morning of 10th October 2022. I registered and was asked to wait in the waiting area. Later a notice appeared stating that there would be a 30 minute delay. Much later this was changed to a 60 minuted delay. I was eventually seen 78 minutes after the schedule appointment time. I am not complaining that there was a delay, such things are inevitable. My complaint is that no oone bothered to give us any information as to why there was a delay. Additionally, given the inevitability of such delays why is there no water despenser in this area?

  3. Review titled Excellent Treatment and First Rate Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Steve Maisfield - Posted on 09 January 2023

I was a day patient at Hinchingbrooke Hospital on 6th October 2022 when I had my Gall bBadder removed. The treatment I received was first rate and I was able to go home the same day. On the 12th October 2022 I was readmitted via A&E due to a post operative abscess and was an inpatient four nights to 16th October 2022 and would like to provide feedback on my experience. • I was admitted vis A&E and have to say the service provided by this department was first rate despite there being a very considerable workload for staff. • On admission to the ward, I was provided by excellent treatment and the care shown by your staff was exceptional. I was later transferred to Daisy Ward and here the high level of care and support continued. Night staff on both wards were excellent and I greatly appreciated the care they provided. • Medical staff provided ongoing information and support which I appreciated. The treatment I have received at Hinchingbrooke Hospital at a difficult time for the NHS was very good and I wanted to express my thanks. Many thanks Steve Maisfield

  4. Review titled Well cared for by Emergency Units

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mark Andrew Titman - Posted on 28 October 2022

I attended the ED on 12 October 2022 with Chest pains. I passed through the ED, Ambulatory Care Unit and Critical Assessment Unit before transfer to The Royal Papworth on 14 October. The service I received in all departments was excellent. I was seen quickly and processed quickly through ED. When in the Ambulatory Care Unit again I was seen quickly and tests were done quickly. Everything was explained to me clearly and on diagnosis of a Heart Attack I was moved quickly to the Acute Assessment Unit. I spent the majority of my time in the Acute Assessment Unit following the quick assessments in the 2 previous departments. The nurses were great trying to put me at ease and the consultants explained clearly what had happened and what was likely to happen on transfer to Royal Papworth. The Dr that had seen me in the Ambulatory Care Unit came to check on me in the Acute Assessment Unit which was a nice touch as I am sure she was v busy. I was transferred from Hinchingbrooke to Royal Papworth by Ambulance and again the paramedics in the Ambulance were great trying to put me at ease and getting me to Papworth with no fuss and v quickly. I have a bit of a phobia about hospitals (and needles) but everybody did their best to put me at ease and make my stay as comfortable as possible which I greatly appreciate. It is obvious that the staff are under great pressure a lot of the time but they just get stuck in and where possible try to keep things as relaxed as possible and try to bring some humour in where they can. I would like to thank all of the staff, in all of the Departments, involved in my care from 12-14 October.

  5. Review titled Rheumatology department

Rated 1 star out of 5

Why does it take five weeks to get a x-ray results and they still don't have them and also I have set up system online for N H S website for blood tests results but hinchingbrooke uses another blood testing facility so neither me or my doctor can get them it's. absolute joke this department has gone downhill since it linked to Peterborough hospital used to be very good but now it's a former shadow of it's self

Elderly confused mother has stay on assessment ward and Cherry Tree Ward, in over five hours of being with mother not one nurse has entered bay, has not welcomed patient and not asked family any questions of what she is able to do. Other patients who have had incontinance issues also not address and when approached Staff were met with a huff and puff Such a shock after excellent care in A/E
