  1. Review titled Excellent Treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Having cause to use the Minor Injuries Dept. I have nothing but praise for the treatment I received. I was treated with the utmost care and attention by each member of staff involved. They operate under very trying conditions remaining both cheerful and professional. Many thanks to all concerned.

  2. Review titled Parking

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Phil - Posted on 27 September 2022

I was nearly late for my appointment as the car park was full. I spent half an hour, along with others, touring the car park looking for a space. Are any plans to expand the car park as late arrivals for appointments will affect the efficiency of the hospital.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments regarding the experience you have been having with trying to park at Heartlands Hospital. Unfortunately parking can be very limited at certain times of the week and all our sites have a similar issue. Your concern was sent to the Estates Manager for Car Parking & Accommodation who has stated that there will be an extra 50 spaces available on the completion of the new Treatment Centre building. We are sorry we are unable to resolve this problem currently and can only advise patients who are travelling by car to factor in the extra time needed to find parking when planning to attend for their appointments. Kindest regards Patient Experience Team

  3. Review titled The Eden Bereavement Suite

Rated 5 stars out of 5

During a difficult time in our lives, the team on Eden suite helped us to such an extent where a simple thankyou will never feel enough. Whilst in hospital we felt that they were nice and helpful, but we were unable to appreciate all the little things they did for us due to us becoming emotional wrecks. It was only after, that we were able to look back and really appreciate all the help we had received. They helped us through our stay at hospital, cared for our baby with the compassion had she been living and when we were unhappy with our privately hired funeral service, Eden understood and allowed us to bring our baby back to the ward two days after the initial discharge. It has been a few months since we lost our baby and every time we think about what we have lost, we thank god for the team on Eden Ward at Heartlands Hospital.

Please accept our sincere condolences on the sad loss of your baby. We are grateful that you have made the time to give this feedback, at what must be a very difficult time. We are pleased to hear about the pleasant and caring treatment you received; particularly the support showed and the way you felt reassured by staff which has helped to make things a little bearable. Your kind words have been forwarded to the senior staff responsible for the department so they can share with their team members. Feedback like this is greatly valued by the staff. Kind regards, Patient Experience Team

  4. Review titled Horrible experience at SAU

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 September 2022

Went to A&E with suspected Gallstones. I was then asked to go to SAU. SAU department is a shamble. Not just me but other patients were waiting far too long to be seen by a doctor. I was sat in the waiting room crying in pain and not a single staff came upto me to ask if im ok. When asked for painkillers they nearly took a whole day just to give painkillers. They seemed to not know anything when asked questions. The doctor was asking me what painkillers I would like which makes you think if his qualified or not. If I am in pain how the hell will I know which painkillers I need. The nurses seem to be too busy chatting about their daily life than assisting you. You can literally hear them from the waiting room. And also SAU needs to allow one family member in with a patient for support. If staff are not bothered looking after patients then I suggest you let at least one family member in with them. Covid is over we all need to live with it. Stop using covid as an excuse. We are patients not animals. Patients need love and care. And fix the toilet door lock. Doesn't require nurses and builders faffing around a lock. Just change it.
